Forums - Nintendo - Prediction: If Nintendo doesn't start talking about NX before the end of October...

... they won't talk about it until 2017.

I thnk they should have revealed it by now, especially since now that Paper Mario Color SPlash is out, Wii U is done until Zelda, then it's done period.

Why reveal it during the holiday season? Holidays are when you put stuff out, not reveal what's coming later.

I still deeply wish they had more for Wii U this holiday season, but...

Oh wait. We have the NES Classic.

Maybe NX is focused on 3DS market, and we still have pokemon sun and moon, and they wont sacrifice 3DSs holidays...

Didn't they kind of did that already by giving it a release window. Besides with all the talk of merging game divisions and a unified platform it doesn't take a genius to figure out the 3DS will no longer receive meaningful support from Nintendo after the NX launches.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Nintendo of Europe already confirmed that the NX reveal is still on track for 2016 soooooo...

The 3DS should be fine until sales start dropping off in a significant way. It sold second only to the PS4 on the last VGC update.

While I won't make any predictions about how well it will do over the '16 holiday season, I see no reason why they would drop significantly, given that the NX hasn't been pushed as a 3DS replacement. Plus a significant number of those 3DS sales are going to the children's market, something the NX is unlikely to immediately replace unless comparably priced.

It should continue on as a low cost alternative to the NX, albeit with gradually reduced software support. The existing user base is far too high to cut off sharply.

I do have to say that I am a bit surprised over the lack of build up for the NX. Granted, I haven't been following it closely, but if Nintendo intends a '16 release, doing a stealthy launch is probably not the best approach.

It is already too late, they will nor release it in march either.

I think they will use these 2 months to distribute the NES classic and try to make some cash with the thing. And then talk about the NX in january.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

It really is getting late. If they dont talk about it in November, then idk wut to make of it

Completely agree. October is the latest part of 2016 they can still talk about it, anything later is going to be swallowed in christmas & holiday stuff, especially as the NX will not come out until march next year. Though, if they dont talk about it this year its going to be delayed for sure, they need a minimum of 5-6 month of marketing towards wider non-core gaming demographics as they arent just putting out some successor but a brand new idea. I am still hoping for a reveal this month, but am starting to doubt its gonna happen this year. They better have some good reason for that, just look at how it went:

"Theres NX its new, we will talk about it later!"
"Nothing about NX till 2016"
"Nothing about NX till E3"
"Sorry, no NX at E3, soon after"

October 2016: *deafening silence intensifys*

At this point they are (again) loosing all that mystery hype that had build up around the system, especially with all the leaks getting more an more likely.
Hopefully we will get some new info soon.

The new guy.

Sorry for possible mistakes, not a native speaker!

It's easy to say this when you follow everything that is occurring about gaming in various websites. He's obviously mentioning the average gamer that just know about something when is officially announced or repeatedly showed trough merchandise.

We reap what we sow

They've stated and confirmed it will be revealed in 2016. Though I agree that as time goes on it gets less and less likely to happen in 2016. I thought SEP was the sweet spot and definitely think OCT is the last logical opportunity. I don't see why they'd want to reveal in NOV/DEC when they are pushing their holiday sales.

Oh and NES classic is awesome. It is a definite winner this holiday.
