Xbox One Japanese price drop to take effect on October 13

5,000 yen price drop announced.

Microsoft has announced a 5,000 yen price drop for all of its Xbox One buying options in Japan, excluding units that include a Kinect sensor.

Here are the main highlights of the price drop:

  • Xbox One 500GB (Halo: The Master Chief Collection Bundle) – 29,980 yen (previously 34,980 yen)
  • Xbox One 1TB (The Division Bundle) – 34,980 yen (previously 39,980 yen)
  • Xbox One 500GB (Battlefield 1 Bundle) – 29,980 yen (previously 34,980 yen)

Microsoft will also run a special campaign at participating retailers until December 31 where you can purchase an Xbox One 500GB unit for 22,759 yen.

Well, hopefully this will keep weekly sales numbers at 3 digits.

My (locked) thread about how difficulty should be a decision for the developers, not the gamers.

Old XB1 + BF1 for 22,759 yen !
It's insane deal.

Facepalms...

I probably better tell them they're wasting their time since there are no JRPGs on the machine... The only way this can work is if FFXV releases and they run out of PS copies, prompting desperate fans to run and buy an Xbox One to play the game...

There, I just told MS International an easy way to hit at least 10,000 sales for a year...

Wow, this will increase the Xbone weekly sales over there at least 10%. That's right, two consoles more per week! XD

Seriously, why even bother at this point.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I know you're joking but if they're desperate they'd just get it digital on ps4 instead of going out and buying a whole new console.

Decent price. Not enough to beat PS4 though, or even PS3 really, but hey it`s better than it was before so that`s something... right?

I would encourage MS to bring the games now, Lost Odyssey 2 for starters, but it would just be too little too late so there`s not really even much point in trying that now.

They can try, but they have to try harder and stay on the race. No quitting the race two games later. Building brand loyalty takes time and it isn't fast...

Ask the guys who were the reason the last console actually started making inroads...

There's a crowd despising digital and PSN isn't really great. It's farfetched, but I wasn't joking...

Xone actually has a real chance of exploding into the 1k territory this q4
