Forums - Gaming - Skyrim Special Edition file size confirmed for Europe and U.S.

"Skyrim Special Edition will take up considerably more space on your PS4 in Europe, presumably due to the various languages that are required. As such, you will need to free up 33GB of space as opposed to just 20GB in North America.

Interestingly, the PS4 version of the critically acclaimed fantasy RPG takes up more space than the Xbox One version, which requires 17GB and 25GB for Europe and U.S., respectively."

33GB isn`t too bad. Although I don`t get why Europeans are forced to install extra languages that they`re never going to use and that take up an extra 13GB. Why not just let them choose which language(s) to install when they click the download button?

Was thinking the same thing.

Also, can languages alone take up 13gb of space? That's more than a third of the total game size.

yes, easily. Nearly all games have multiple languages on disc or included with the download.

I remember LittleBigPlanet 2 is about 2GB game and 10GB language packs.

Interesting.  Thanks for sharing!  Then they definitely should just give the option to install which language you want before the game installs onto your system.  Or just have one default language on the game then put the others on PSN.

I took an arrow to my knee cost a few GB's.

I bought the legendary edition for $12 so I could get the free Steam upgrade. Never played Skyrim so looking forward to it.

If the language is voice overs, and not just text, then yeah. Japanese audio for FF XIII-3 was 4GB. But in Skyrims case it would probably be multiple European languages, so 13GB would make sense.

Yea it just never occured to me how big audio can be for games.  I learn something new today xD

Skyrim has 400000000 books and other things that are text based. Skyrim also has a lot of dialogue.
