Don't tell me the base console doesn't come with the "dock"? Time to start questioning if it even comes with a power adapter "Interact" with your game on the go instead of "play" sounds pretty bad too, if it's going to be like that then calling it an hybrid is about as accurate as calling me a Playmate |
I don't like the phrasing, but I'd actually prefer "interacting" to playing full games.
One of the reasons I don't like the idea of a hybrid is that I like to play different things on consoles and handhelds. There are some games that would work on both (Mario Kart for instance) but I don't really want to play something like Xenoblade Chronicles X on the go, or Project S.T.E.A.M. on my TV. I'm way more interested in a VMUish setup than a pure hybrid, and this also means they won't have to gimp the games to allow them to run on both. Basically the set up was like a VMU, and that was actually a really fun idea that let you continue your game in a way while playing something a bit more appropriate on the go.
Of course, this set up has its own issues, particularly with third parties. If I'm already not sold on developing for NX, having to concoct some subgame isn't going to sweeten the deal. I'm also just not sure in general if the demand for something like this is here. I'd actually like this idea, but I may be in the minority.
