But it will be very appealing, even a must have, for kids that don't own a smart phone. The mobile game tie-in to AAA games are inaccessible to younglings with no phones. Also the AAA tie-in mobile games are already made to run on Andriod and IOS so the mini portable unit that comes with the NX probably runs a branched version making these existing games ready to go. The big question is what other kind of mobile to console integration will Nintendo bring with the NX that doesn't currently exist now? 

I work in elementary schools.  From my experience, the "kids who don't have access to a smart phone" market is small, and getting smaller and smaller.  Kids have access to smart phones or tablets one way or another.
