Forums - Gaming - Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 limited edition announced

I know this is some what unrelated/related to this limited edition, but boy do I hate pins and pins collector after PAX.

I am still undecided on this.

Thanks for sharing! January is going to be nuts with KH2.8, Yakuza 0, and now Gravity Rush 2!

I would have picked this up for any amount of money (ok, an exaggeration) if it included KH 1 & 2 remastered.

Hmm.. I've not been following all the KH releases consistently (and even if I were, would I be able to catch everything? :D ), but what exactly is this? I can understand what DDD HD means, but, what about the rest of the things on here?

They did the same thing with Kingdom Hearts HD 2.5 ReMIX (Where do they come up with these names lol)... I preferred 1.5 since it came with an art book, which I think is a nicer thing to package than a pin... but to each their own, lol

I think Europe had it good with 1.5, it was an artbook and the game separetly right?

In NA, 1.5 was an artbook with the game disc in the book. No separate case.  I did not like that one bit.

I know a lot of folks like Disney and/or have fallen in love with this series. But for me, I cannot take classic Disney characters seriously in an RPG.

KH 2.8 consists of three things

DDD/3D HD - HD remaster of Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance which takes place after the events of KH2 and Re:Coded and precursor to KH3.

Aqua Prologue story/KH3 Demo - a side story showcasing Aqua's point of view in the world of darkness after the events of KH BBS (and possibly leading up to KH3).

The Great Keyblade War Movie - a 2-3 hour movie showcasing events that took place hundreds of years before the events of Kingdom Hearts. Explains Keyblade, Keyblade war and how possibly the Keyblade graveyard came to be (the last area in KH BBS).

If you buy KH 1.5, 2.5 and 2.8 - you'll catch up to everything storyline wise.

KH1.5 has KH1, KH Re:Chain of Memories and 358/2 Days as a movie

KH 2.5 has KH2, KH BBS and Re:coded as a movie.

The bolded makes me quite happy to hear. I have finished KH1 and 2 through and through (on PS2). But the rest, oh yeesh :P

Thanks basil.

That's their only incentive to get the limited edition? No thanks.

Oh, no, it was the same as in NA, where the game was in the book... but I like things like that, they're clever lol.

Oh lol Well I'd rather it was separate, it just ruins the look of my collection with the rest of my games xD

I thought the same thing when I first saw the game back in 2003. After playing it though - completely changed and its amazing how well it meshes with the different themes that are in the game.

13 years later - I consider it to be one of the best RPG franchises ever made.

"Everyone" tells me the same thing, and I understand and not taking anything away from it.  I do have a personal soapbox rant with Disney so that's not going to help the situation.  But that's for another topic.  :)
