Speak for yourself.

For me that was nowhere near the case.

Alara317 - well, still watching it. I guess I’ll catch Smackdown too. I kinda figured that, it was the same thing with The Rock and Kurt Angle, and I think WWE should play it like they did those two. With the Rock it was untintentional, and he just kind of figured out how to deal with the crowd hating him by saying stuff like “How DARE you boo me! The Rock does NOT suck!” That came a while after he kept getting booed - with Angle it was more deliberate, and they had him getting on the mic and chastising the crowd for booing from day 1.

Haha, I will NOT be able to unsee the Rock/Triple H baby thing now. I always thought Roman, to me, looks kind of like if Jason Momoa had a baby with Jason Momoa.

Statements like this make no sense to me.  It should be obvious I am speaking for myself.

No, it wasn't.
If you wanted to make it clear that this applies only to you, you should re-write it so it instead reads something like this:

"Thats why I hated it.  I didn't see this as a monumental first ever women's royal rumble match. Rousey signing COMPLETELY overshadowed the Rumble for me."

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

I have to say, that was one of the best episodes of Raw I've seen in a long time. Everybody brought their "A game".

Sash vs Asuka stole the show. If Finn could have won, I'd be happier. Damn Cena just hopping from show to show at will!

OK, I was about to ask about that. That was the first RAW I’d seen in well over a decade. I’ve been watching purely Attitude era on the WWE. I was wondering if that level of quality was typical for the product. Also, if matches are regularly that long now (Attitude era had mostly 2-5 minute matches, with usually 1 that went over the 7 minute mark).

Sasha Banks is an Android. She was NUTS in the ring; but the really impressive part is this is the night after her nearly hour long stint in the Royal Rumble match. It’s like she doesn’t feel pain or exhaustion.

I was wondering if all this internet talk about WWE being crap now was incredible exaggeration. What I have seen in the last couple of days is above Attitude era quality in many regards (IMO). The one thing I noticed that was different, and a little disappointing, was that very few people have signs anymore; dying tradition?

I think the wrestling is better than it's ever been. Some don't like that, though. They say it's more choreographed rather than looking like an actual fight. As long as I'm engaged, I don't see anything wrong with it. It's like a light saber duel in Star Wars. Choreographed or not, it's still awesome.

I think where WWE dropped the ball was in making sure that every single segment had a story line and stakes. They tend to focus on one or two big stories and everybody else just flounders around. Last night, every match seemed to have some build up and direction. That gets me more engaged. And then the matches live up to the story.

I'm not the biggest fan of the three hour format but it didn't feel too long at all, last night.

Couple of things:

- Yes, they do tend to have about three long matches per show.

- You're right. Sasha Banks isn't human.

- I noticed the decline in signs, too. Not sure if that's something enforced by arenas or if people just aren't compelled to make them anymore. I used to love seeing crazy audience signs, too. It was a large part of the fun!

If you cant infer from an individuals posting on the internet that it is their opinion that is your problem, not theirs.  Not every statement needs a disclaimer so you can see it clearly.

Though based on some tweets from others, including females who participated in the match, I am not the only one with that opinion, even if I am only speaking for myself.

However, the fact that Ronda was the front page of WWE.com and ESPN.com with no mention of anything else in the lead stories is what makes me say it was overshadowed.

The women's Royal Rumble was a big deal, and I think they treated it like a big deal.

But the fact of the matter is, signing Rousey is huge (mainstream) news. So it's hard to see how WWE would let this news come out -- and it was going to come out -- without it making a big splash.

I agree that it is huge news.  I just think it was poor timing to do it THREE MINUTES after your first ever women's royal rumble.  The next night on Raw, after Asuka picked her champion to face would've been just as impactful.

What are you on? I didn’t question that this was your opinion. I was shooting back at who your opinion is about. WHO feels that the women’s Royal Rumble match “is completely overshadowed by the Rousey signing.” You were stating it in general terms indicating that you felt other people felt this is what generally occurred, and that is what I took issue with.

You then come back to me and say you were only speaking for yourself. If that’s the case, don’t word your sentence in general terms. Say something indicating that you are the one who was so excited about Rousey that it completely eclipsed the women’s Royal Rumble match (English isn’t my first language, but that is not at all what your original post looked like it was trying to say).

No disclaimer necessary, just basic communication skills.

The bolded is probably where things are going a little off course for us.  I will try to be a little more clear in what I am saying for you.

To clarify, I am not excited at all about Rousey, I thought that them doing it at the time they did was in remarkably poor taste.  It felt as though they just did the women's rumble match, got the checkmark on the list of "things we need to do" and then rushed to get their major headline in Rousey out there.  Instead of being able to herald that they had a great and successful women's rumble the only thing people wanted to talk about (media, etc) is that Rousey is now in WWE.  It takes away from the rumble they spent weeks hyping to have it all come down to a discussion primarily about a woman who wasn't even in it.
