Hogan also has a pretty solid grasp of wrestling that no one gives him credit for; like heel moves. He was hitting The Rock with a back rake. A lot of the classic heel work disappeared when promoters learned that they could sell merchandise for heels, too, if they were cool enough. Old-school heels that make everyone hate them are valuable even if they aren't selling as many t-shirts. Hogan, specifically, really understood and art of exaggeration. So did Flair. Very few people are willing to do that now but it used to add so much drama to matches. The only one I can think of off-hand now is Ishii.
