Ughhh. That Netflix Vince McMahon documentary fell way below the hype. It's more or less a tame and very sanitized version of a Dark Side of the Ring episode. No new information, and whenever a really bad thing is brought up "Statute of Limitations" comment by Vince, or "We treated all women horribly" by Tony Atlas - that was the end of it, just the quote, and not really any deeper digging. Also, with a cast that is like 80% like Shane, Stephanie, Linda, Hogan, Bret Hart, Shawn Michaels, and Paul Heyman and not questioning their story, or investigating further... like interviewing any of the victims, seems like a massive hole. I don't think the series was particularly thorough.

Anyway, I'll watch the rest of it, I'm only 2 or 3 episodes in so far. But Dark Side of the Ring is significantly better and more informative, IMO.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Major Spoiler If you've seen the pic already, you know what I'm talking about. If you don't know what I'm talking about, don't click!

Spoiler!

I mean, even if there's like a 98% certainty that the whole thing is fabricated, that 2% of doubt can create the tension. But some fan (kinda) ruined one of the best feuds of the last 10 years by snapping two wrestlers hanging in what was supposed to be a closed off arena.

I mean...it's called acting. Their hatred is a performance art. Y'all know the wrestlers don't actually hate each other, right? I don't see this as a problem.

If you only watch one table spot this year make it the one from Punk and Mcyntyre's cell match. Also there were a couple of unprotected head shots in this one. Neither looked particularly brutal, but hope they're being safe. This was a pretty brutal match and exactly what you'd want out of a Hell in a Cell. Easily Punk's best performance of his return.

Nia Jax tried a huricanrana... went about as well as you would expect. Anyone was going to have trouble following the Hell in a Cell opening, but regardless, this match was a mess.

Already announced but Summerslam will be at Metlife which is a pretty easy commute. Assuming my personal finances are doing well, I'll try to attend both nights.

I have literally nothing to say about Balor and Priest. It was fine. Perfect example of a match that's just there.

Triple H is out to announce that a month from now at the Saudi show the two men and women's champions will fight and the winner will get a special crown jewel belt for the year. Meh. Now Gunther is here to criticize Bill Goldberg. Then Sami attacks from behind. Double meh. I think when you only have 5 matches on the card you really shouldn't be using all this time to promote raw and a PLE a month from now.

I know I'm not special here but for the life of me I don't know how that woman has a job. she's a terrible wrestler, a terrible actor, dangerous in the ring, and ignorant as hell outside of it. There's no redeeming qualities about her aside from the admittedly funny 'ow my hole' meme from like 2020 or something.

Part of me, the self-reflective part, assumed I was being harsh because of some sexism related issue (I have been critical of AEW's women's division, too), but no. I love pretty much every woman wrestler on WWE's roster and they've had some of the best stories of the last few years. This ain't a sexim thing, it's a 'Nia Jax is a useless tit' thing. I repeat, I genuinely don't know how she has a job. I've never once seen a performance from her I didn't think sucked. She's not even entertaining. At least goldberg had aura. At least Jade Cargill has aura. Neither of them can wrestle for shit but at least they have the 'it' factor. Nia has none of 'it'. I don't get 'it' and neither does she.

I'm fine with her being a big monster heel for someone like Rhea to beat. I mean, she's very big, and that's worth something. But I don't need an extended Rhea championship run, and I don't need her to ever get near a microphone. The stuff with her and Tiffany Stratton has been incredibly cringe and Tiffany is probably less over now than when it started. Guess it pays to be related to the Rock.

Speaking of large women. Raquel Rodriguez returned to lead to a DQ finish in the Rhea/Liv match. Was actually going fairly well up to that point. Best performance I've seen for Liv. Hopefully the main event delivers, cause this show has been pretty mediocre since the opener.

Edit: Well, the main event was indeed pretty fun. First time Reigns has truly been a face since the Shield days. Just a good old school tag match with a couple of nice spots and a good ending that will begin the set up for Wargames and send people home happy. I was about to say that the Cell shouldn't main evented... but then the Rock's music hit. And, yeah, you kind of had to end on that.

So... pretty average PPV. Great opener, pretty good closer, but kind of dragged in the middle.

Just bought my ticket to my very first Monday Night RAW!
(Only took me 21 years to do it. Now I just need SmackDown. XD)
November 25th in Phoenix - The last RAW before Survivor Series.
Hoping for something HUGE on that show relating to the Bloodline - Since I'm 99% sure that WarGames is going to be the OG Bloodline (Roman, Usos, and Sami) vs Bloodline 2.0 (Solo, Jacob, and the GoD).

Nice. Now that I'm gainfully employed gonna go to a few events. Smackson in Brooklyn this month, Saturday night main event in December and at least one night of summerslam at metlife in NJ.

Is this your first live wrestling event altogether?

And I'm aware it says smackson but I decided to leave it that way cause it made me chuckle.

I'm liking the Blackpool combat club story in AEW and the Bloodline story in WWE.

Peak time in Wrestling since the NWO/WWF era.
