The reason Charlotte won was because Rhea had a problem with her passport and had to go back on Monday. Rhea probably won't be back for a few months.

Rhea herself has deconfirmed this and said it's not true. She's still very much in the States.

Anyone see AEW Double or Nothing yet? Gonna watch it today or tomorrow, but I hear great things!

I preferred the Firefly fun House one. Far smarter, in my eyes.

I was 50/50 on this Wrestlemania. some of the matches were good, some were meh, a few were terrible....but my biggest issue was the difference between the good and bad.

the matches where the right guy won...were terrible matches (Braun, Drew), and the matches that were pretty good CLEARLY had THE WRONG one win (Charlotte should NOT have gone over Rhea; Lynch SHOULD NOT have won over Shayna). some matches were great, some were bland, and then we had the two cinematic matches which were creative and fun.

Overall...C Mania. Even the good matches were bad, only a few were out-and-out victories.

Oh, and outside of the first 2 minutes and last 5 minutes, the Edge-orton match was hot garbage. The beginning and end were hot fire, though.

I didn’t see Wrestlemania, mostly because my app for WWE network broke when they changed some kind of authentication procedure - and I quit the network some time back.

But I’d say the reason why those two matches were better had more to do with the fact that you had 4 of the best women’s wrestlers involved - and all 4 of them are (imo) clearly better than Drew, Brock, and Goldberg - these guys are mostly image-based performers, not skill-based performers. Braun is great as a “big man” wrestler, though, but he needs the right people to work with... and again, he’s still more image than skill, so more likely to put on a bad match than any of the 4 aforementioned women.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

And just to respond to some of the NXT stuff. It’s been significantly better than the main roster for years, now. NXT is better than I remember WWE ever being at any point in its history... The only time I recall it being close to as good would be around the year 2000. Mick Foley and Triple H kicked off the year with the best match in either’s career (well, too 3 for Foley, by far the best Triple H match, though) and it just seemed everything was during right on all cylinders. The Attitude era by and large was not as great as I remembered UNTIL about 2000, 2001 was the next best year, but 2000 really was something else.

NXT kind of brought that sort of excitement back, just without the gigantic crowds and mostly everyone knowing what’s going on (since like few people watch pro-wrestling anymore, let alone NXT)

I agree.

I also disagree.

The triple threat with HBK, HHH and he who must not be named was the best match HHH has been a part of.

I keep meaning to get back into wrestling and watching only NXT and/or AEW. The years of sheer disappointment from the main WWE roster though have been keeping me away.

I haven't watched Raw or Smackdown since last August, to be honest. It's just not good. I keep up with what's going on but I just don't care about any of it. NXT is good, but they keep taking people away from NXT to flounder on Raw/Smackdown.

I'm almost entirely an AEW gal now.

Ouch, typos! Either I wrote this on my phone while on a bumpy ride, or I was drunk =P

Anyway, I just wanted to check in to say I'm pleased Keith Lee won, that guy is beyond Mike Awesome level.

That match was the only WWE match I've cared about in months. I have pretty much entirely migrated to AEW.

I was watching AEW when it first aired, but COVID and a lack of an actual crowd just really killed my enthusiasm to the point I haven't been watching anymore.
