Forums - Sony - Should Shuhei Yoshida be fired from Sony?

Short version: no. Long version: noooooooooo.

I understand that no one wants a game released that is unfinished or broken - but at the same time I don't think developers should make promises they can't keep.

This here is your problem. If you want to keep the schedules, you may end up having to break other promises. I think breaking the schedule is the smallest possible problem here. Scheduling a huge development project is difficult, and the only way you can always stay in the schedule is by overestimating the time you need for the project (by a lot, I guess). In a lot of cases, that would result in there being too much time reserved for the project, which would leave devs doing nothing. Not exactly ideal. Or perhaps you could improve your development process so estimating the required time is easier, but that's not necessarily an easy feat either.

That's not Yoshida's fault.
Yoshida is as good as possible of a representative to PlayStation, and the brand has been getting revaluated more and more ever since he stepped as president, the PS3 status quo rise and PS4 success are both on his account as president.

So no, by all means, no.

You know he should be fired for the simple reason he won't greenlight LOD ,the more I think about it, because of his poast association with the game he deserves to be made to pay for it to be made out of his future earnings.

Yeah, if only to get a rise out of the fans. Same should happen to Philly and Reggie.

The way I see it, they have no problem with these delays as everyone has stated, the games end up great and Sony doesnt need them in the holiday period because they've got a lot of 3rd party AAA games in that period. Spreading them out throughout the year is smart and consumer friendly.

I wish they would just stop announcing games that are 3-4 years away from release. Only announce it when you're absolutely sure it'll be ready in 6 months to a year. 2 years max.

Issues like the last guardian and FF15 among others are just ridiculous.

Not only for the game but sugesting that someone should lose his job for this non-sense is even worse :(
I have hard time to comprehend how someone would want another person to lose his job alltogether even you hate him/her...

In the past, developers probably delayed their games many times for the same reasons as today and no one gave a fuck because it wasn't as easy getting the info. Firing Yoshida when ps has been so successful sounds ridiculous to say the least, even more considering the reasons you are giving...

As gamers, we should just care about games having the best possible quality, I'm sure that's way more important than waiting a few extra months. Now I agree that they shouldn't announce game unless they will be released in less than 2 years, but that's a different matter

In 2014. With one of them being a mistake of including his twitter account.

He is also someone that plays Wii U games with ihs daughters, and says nice things about Phil Spencer.

You can't get lower than you know.. being nice right.

You are trying too hard you don't need to use every post as an attack on Sony.

Yeah because putting your twitter account as your user name and claiming you love PS on Nintendos network was an accident. Haha honestly this guy gets treated like Jesus. I bet if Phil said he loves MS on the PS network you will all be fumming and want his head.  Crazy world we live in.

For the record, this isnt an attack on Sony. Its about Shuhei Yoshida. An individual is not a corporation.

You're just splitting hairs in a baity way. The very article you posted show Yoshida admitted the second one was warranted, and goes on to discuss what Bandorr mentioned.
