Around the Network

Well, The Jungle Book's shown that they do have the means now to pull these 'cgla' adaptations off. We'll see if it continues.

Jungle Book only had 2 human characters (Mowgli and his father), the rest were live-action quality CGI animals. Just imagine an entire cast of live action quality CGI animals instead. The animals in Jungle Book were quite realistic, the animators used real animals as references and performance capture from the voice actors to bring them to life. And this Lion King movie is 3rd on the production order for upcoming Disney live action adaptations afaik (after Beauty and the Beast and the Cruella de Vil movie), so we're probably looking at a 2019 release, so the technology used to create the CGI animals will improve further before it enters full production.

But wouldn't that be more like an animated movie rather than live action?

Or in this sense, live action means like realistic?

So basically, everyone will look like the talking animals from the Narnia movies?
