Forums - Gaming - Sony downplays GTA4 extras, no one buying it

well i'm getting it for the 360 mainly because of the dlc. I just hoping that the dlc is priced right.

Soz SSJ12. Was defending my corner from fanboys calling me fanboy. You can appreciate that right. What I posted was relevent to my defense. However your right.

But you are a fanboy, especially after ranting on how Lost odyssey looks better than uncharted.

In a sad way he's right. Even if Gran Turismo 5 Prologue is poor in terms of simulation racing, it will sell on name alone. However as I understand Rockstar are releasing very good DLC somewhere in the region of 6 - 8 hours extra. PS3 wont have full stroyline.

no from what I have heard its mostly all side missions nothing to do with the story or some missions that enhance areas of the story like Nico taking over LC.

The main story will be the same and complete throughout both versions.

Plus I doubt the DLC will be the reason that the 360 version moves more copies of the game.  Thats like saying that Motorstorm only started selling well due to it's DLC.

DLC will not be the driving factor, at most its the fact that theres a touch over 6 million more 360s sold then the PS3.

BTW, if you played a GT game you would realize that even its racing is darn near perfect.

That's not true. Motorstorm starting selling well because it was bundled        ;)

Just kiss the tip.

Gt 5 prologue is poor in terms of Simulation Racing??

& I though Xbots could stoop no lower

drive on 1 track and with 1 car on a forza track then do the same on a gt5 track.

its quite obvious that gt5 is better, amazing infact

no matter how much better gt5 full game is in grafix sound, cars, driving etc etc practitioners of xboxism will always play gt5 down and raise forza 2 up lol

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

So what about the racing then. You saying if GT5P was a rally racer it would be the best. I agree. Unfortunately it's got 15 other cars on the track. thats the problem. And I own all previous GT's which I loved. Cant help when they have been past in terms of real racing. I hope more than anyone Polyphony change it for the full release. I love sim racing. Great sim racing with GT5P graphics would be the sweetest thing.

I am sure this has been addressed, but I just have to reiterate my opinion;

Of course there will be further iterations of GTAIV much like the past vice city and san andreas was to GTAIII.

To think that the future of the entire GTA universe this generation is solely being developed through DLC is incredibly ignorant.

Yes there will be exclusive content on the 360, which will be worth playing, but it absolutely will not supplement future games.

It would make sense from Rockstars point of view. It would cut dev costs hell of alot. They make another one for retail, but not as many as the PS2 era.

What's funny about all this is that if that DLC was Playstation 3 exclusive we wouldn't hear the end of it.

So, everything would be the same... except 360 and PS3 would be swapped.

It's clear if you want the full GTA 4 expierence you need the 360 version.

There is just no denying it.  Even Sony doesn't just suggesting that the "core" gameplay is all you'll need because after that you'll want to play other great Sony games.

I agree.  I think they will push additional missions and such in addition to the 360 episodic content through DLC if the 360 DLC does well. For Rockstar this feels like a "test" to me.  Which is why I think there will be some big things to GTA4.

Take 2 almost went bankrupt waiting for the game to come out.

DLC > No DLC.

Microsoft buys a winning hand again.

Price not worth the benefit, though.  It won't stop PS3's momentum, and it won't stop the fact that 360 is on the harsh downhill in 2 of 3 regions, and won't sustain better-than-PS3 sales in NA for long.

PS3 version has better graphics, said IGN.

360's lack of mandatory hdd limited what Rockstar could do with GTAIV, said Rockstar.

Pathetic.
