Forums - Gaming - The console wars are so ridiculous.

"That's like getting upset over someone liking a different flavor of smoothie."

HAHA That's a nice analogy. I laughed.

As a PlayStation fan I dislike Xbox, but never their crowd. I think being offensive over someone who plays on other platforms is dumb.

However, I'm not happy with Sony right now. They made some dumb moves this last week.

3DS, Wii, PSP, Vita, PS2, PS3, PS4 & Steam.

One thing though - the 8th gen console war from 2007-2009 on gamefaqs waa just amazing.

There is no war as the intellivision is the supreme victor and ended all wars.

l <---- Do you mean this glitch Gribble?  If not, I'll keep looking.

They're more amusing nowadays to see the schadenfreude of people on Youtube and social media wrecking their lives over fighting them. "Corporate slavery" is a common term I've been hearing. Where people don't even realize companies are weaponizing them to fight for their products.

On a base level, console warring involves having a purpose, sad as that sounds. Having a fabricated cause to fight for. Social media is rife with this, with the latest news story causing 'outrage' and providing holier-than-thou podiums to preach from.

As kids, it's also defending the big Christmas present your family got you. No kid wants to hear his new fancy gaming thing is sub-par or not getting all the cool stuff. And hey, popularity is good, so the more kids are convinced to ask their parents for the same thing you have, the better off things will be. For poor adults it's defending a major purchase for all the same reasons. Only difference is that kids will play their games when not arguing, adults will more likely be too tired to do that and instead spend their time on message boards and recording 3-hour-long podcasts, both devoted to system warfare.

You're just now discovering this?

I play all platforms. Much more fun than sticking to one I feel. I get tired of PlayStation all the time if I play it too much. Same goes for Xbox and Nintendo. You gotta mix it up time to time.

Variety is the spice of life.

Think of it more like a family, and this is all sibling rivalry. Siblings bicker and argue, But let someone that doesn't game talk shit about games or gamers and watch everyone unite to talk shit on that person or group.

But yeah, console wars are stupid. People are missing out on great experiences limiting themselves to one platform

I'd say the console wars is one of the most positive driving forces of the industry. If you lose enjoyment in gaming because of what some dude on the internet says, that's not really a community problem, that's on you.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Well you just explained this site and it's constant praising of everything Sony as most impressive. Now it's stats on a paper don't matter since Scorpio is going to be a beast, it's just constant.. Hence Why I don't really come to this site, it's so biased that you can't even have a conversation of any value..
