Good approach, I think. Pokemon Go has seemingly increased mainline Pokemon game sales.

Is to be expected, can bring awareness of console gaming to the casual market, or at least give them a sample of what is available :p

[3DS] Winter Playtimes [Wii U]
Thats was planned from beginning, and Pokemon GO showed that is good plan (beacuse after Pokemon GO is launched sales of 3DS and Pokemon games were higher).

Wii, PS2, SNES |
Why do you have the SNES in there?

And NO, I have no problem playing games that look made for kids before anyone asks. The thing is, lots of adults do and it wouldn't hurt to branch out a little. |
Kids are better because they'll spend more time on Nintendo's console than an adult, say you have a 30 yo and a 13 yo: they both live their lives the same way in similar health conditions and they both die arond the age of 70, they both suddenly get into Nintendo games, now the 13 yo has 57 other years to potentially buy Nintendo games while the 30 yo only has 40 meaning less money for Nintendo...

The PS2 had a lot of games that were focused on graphics |
But graphics weren't the main selling point. The PS2 sold so well due to playing DVDs and having a lot of games in general.

Super Mario Run will easily be the top downloaded mobile game upon release, and this will lead to tons of youngsters asking mommy and daddy for a Nintendo console so they can get more Mario. |
We don't know who exactly it was that bought those 3ds consoles and games. I think it's more likely that it was people in their late 20's who owned a gameboy and loved pokemon but then didn't buy every single pokemon game that came out in future consoles. Playing Go (and the hype around it) reminded them how much they liked it and they decided to play it again.
Is there a report from Ninty stating that it was young people who are resposnible for that increase?
