Forums - Gaming - BioShock collection and the disrespect by Console Gamers

The baffles my mind to see and yet nobody complains, it is so bad i can´t even think they are doing it, Bioshock Remastered on Pc let you have all games for free if you own all the games previsouly, you can even submit proof to 2K you add a physical copy and they will give you acess to the Remastered version.

I own BioShock on PC. How do I get the remastered version?

BIOSHOCK ON STEAM: If you already own BioShock, BioShock 2, or Minerva’s Den on Steam, the remastered version for the corresponding title will automatically show up in your Steam library as a separate game. You can expect to see the remastered titles begin rolling out in Steam libraries starting at 3pm PT on September 15, 2016 (find out what time that is in your timezone[www.thetimezoneconverter.com]). Once it shows up, you can choose to install the original version or the remastered version.

BIOSHOCK NOT ON STEAM: If you have a physical copy of BioShock or BioShock 2 on PC, or a Games for Windows Live digital copy, it may take some additional steps to get the remastered version, see below.

The original BioShock is 9 years old. NINE. That is ancient in computer years. This also means most physical copies didn’t come with a CD key. To get BioShock remastered on Steam, you must provide your Steam profile information AND proof of purchase of the original PC game to 2K Support[support.2k.com]. Find out what else you need to submit a ticket here[support.2k.com].

For BioShock 2, find the Games for Windows Live key that was with your digital or physical copy. Activate this key through Steam. Information and step-by-step instructions can be found at this link[support.2k.com].

Once you have BioShock or BioShock 2 on Steam, you are all set for the upgrade starting at 3pm PT on 9/15/16. Want to know if your PC can handle the new remasters? Below are the minimum and recommended system specs for the remastered versions included in BioShock: The Collection.

Now this is amazing, kudos for them to doing this but know, what about people like me who bought all the games on 360 for >60e? Can´t i provide proof i own the god damn games and download the new ones for free? Man this is so bad i didn´t think it was possible, of course i´m not buying the new collection, i´m buying the next Bioshock but this, this is baffling.

Oh boy, I hope you don't discover what they've done with the Skyrim remaster.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

This is what? The second time so far this has happened? Its an interesting trend so far, one I don't quite understand why it is happening. (Not that I am complaining)

I guess one way to look at it is that mods are more than capable of reproducing the remastered version enhancements for the most part. Still... Both Bethesda with Skyrim and these guys with Bioshock are doing something very unexpected.

Maybe they feel that they are just adding in enhancements to the PC versions while doing a lot more work for the x1/ps4 itterations since the games weren't avaliable previously?

The last part sounds more logical. Imaging charging PC users what they have previous modded into those games, it would be silly as hell to think that would work, remember paid mods on Steam for that short time?. Also Sweetfx and reshade, those two also count towards visual changes.

Mankind, in its arrogance and self-delusion, must believe they are the mirrors to God in both their image and their power. If something shatters that mirror, then it must be totally destroyed.

Because you already bought the games on PC, so you get the upgrade for PC too... You don't own the game on ps4/xbo and the game is not currently playable on ps4/xbo.

It would be ridiculous to make PC users pay for Bioshock Definitive, can you imagine if they released "Infamous Second Son Definitive" on ps4 and made you pay for it?

Well, the console versions were clearly inferior to start with. I don't quite understand the need to even release the remastered versions on PC at all, because they're not that much better. It's a different case on consoles (although I think remastering Bioshock is pretty useless anyway, because the games still look pretty good like a lot of 7th gen games).

I am happy because I am getting those for free as a current owner on steam.
...I am sad because I finished both within the last two years and feel no desire to replay them :P

See you in the Remastered^2 versions 6-7 years from now!

Cool, I already own all those on PC, but none of the dlc. And if they run at 60fps on console, I might get them so I can try and get the platinum trophies

Anyone know if the Assass Ezio remasters are coming to PC?

ugh not this again.

an XboxOne is no 360 and a PS4 is no PS3, but a PC is a PC.

Meaning they already had a PC build that only needed a patch, whereas the X1 and PS4 version had to be done from scratch. This costs money and that's why console gamers have to pay for it.

People really seem to have a hard time understanding that.

Also, much like Skyrim the new version adds nothing that free mods don't already offer and surpass. They're two completely different markets.
