If the range is that bad I won't be able to use it. As it is half the time I can't even get my Wii U to connect at its current range.

The Wii U GamePad's connection issues can be pinned down to the fact that it's fighting against your router in the 5GHz band, and the Wii U's antenna isn't as strong as the one found in a typical router.
5ghz isn't faster, it allows more connections without interferences.
That's it, it's the same speed

...It IS faster.
802.11ac can go up to 1300Mbps, and many, many devices can max out the available bandwidth (like my 52Mbps connections). With 2.4GHz, you would be really lucky to get 20-30Mbps. 2.4GHz is worse in everything but range.
If it is a portable/mobile device it had better have a 4G LTE option. Nintendo and Sony need to get their business together and give gamers a phone. I am sick of handhelds lacking communication features, and having to use an android or ios paper weight from time to time just pisses me off. I'd rather pay $500 for a peripheral that lets me make calls and texts from the 3DS or Vita than get one of the useless mobile devices on the market today.
Stop hate, let others live the life they were given. Everyone has their problems, and no one should have to feel ashamed for the way they were born. Be proud of who you are, encourage others to be proud of themselves. Learn, research, absorb everything around you. Nothing is meaningless, a purpose is placed on everything no matter how you perceive it. Discover how to love, and share that love with everything that you encounter. Help make existence a beautiful thing.
