Others may be at different places now, but, I have personaly not bought or rented ANY physical media since around 2007/8.. my guess is the support for them is not as relevant as it was before.
I'm in Canada, here is what I noticed:
Xbox One S 500$ (1TB drive)
PS4 Pro will be 500$
Now you make your choice, get the physical 4K disk player or the more powerful console for the same price, from my point of view the choice is brain dead simple (i.e.: PS4 Neo is a better deal), when itès released.
N the S seems to have some kind of aura against it, many people seems to think this IS the Scorpio, that it is more powerful than the PS4 or its pro variant... I think MSs vague marketing is built around taking advantage of this confusion (remember how they let the secret sauce and cloud insinuation fly to keep people in doubt about how weak the xb1 is).
Anyway, I brought up the price comparison to show that not including the reader saved a few $ and made the machine more affordable in the end, this is great, Sony did not let the media drive up the price of their console again (for no valid reason this time).
As for the actual Scrpio, I would wait to know how much it will cost compared to the PS4 PRO AT THE TIME OF ITS LAUNCH, I could imagine a 350$ PS4 PRO going against a 500, 550$ Scorpio... or a Scorprio going against a PS4 Pro Expert announcement, or "leak" one year or so before its actual release.
