The ultimate irony...

I feel these days Sony is stuuuuupid ! I'm tired. 　

I tried... I effing tried to warn you all they don't care about your complaints (Microsoft did) but as you might already know... nobody listened... 

MS only cared cuz they got a royal ass kicking at the start of the gen from which they still haven't recovered.

Sony in this case isn't in disagreement about mods, it's asking for the developer to follow a process which the developer is refusing to do.

They don't want another NMS situation on their hands.

MS is willing to take the risk since they have frak all to lose. 

As someone who's dealt with both, I can safely say Sony cares less about what the customer wants personally. They try to overgeneralize themselves by offering a plethora of general audience content and a lot of niche games and thinking the player should be happy with variety as it is provided rather than gaming input influencing their choices. 

The Vita met an untimely demise for this reason (no homebrew, fan patches and localizations, region shifting and cross region online)... 

Xbox pulls of an Steam and people get pissed though... 

Neither MS or Sony are perfect. I learnt that through their customer service the hardway. From there I made a decision not to buy a game on their store until they have delivered fully what they promised. 

Bethesda is also no better. We know from games they have created over the decade that they do shoddy jobs here and there. 

There is a lesson for the consumer to learn I suppose.

For those who say this won't affect purchasing decisions... once upon a time console decisions from some consumers were based in part on the fact that Sega was more permissive for showing blood in Mortal Kombat than Nintendo was. You'd be surprised what can move the needle for people. Just because it's not a big deal to you doesn't mean there's no one that it's a big deal to.

I know, but I am more tolerant of hardware screw ups than software screw ups... 

Bethesda gets a free pass because at this point their bugs are almost comparable to cheat codes... 

And couldn't have said it better myself...
