Sony can't just come out and say something when all tech so far says that it is not possible.

It's like my current internet is only 12 mb. There is zero reason for me to buy netflix 4k streaming cause on their site they say it requires 20 mb internet. 

There is zero poitn in the current ps4's to support hdr content in a firmware update if the data gets bottlenecked by the hdmi cord and can't send that much data to the tv to even support it.

Also why you should get a PS4 pro instead of a Xbox One slim?

Because for 50$ extra (349$ Xbox One S (1tb)) you can get a PS4 pro, thats 3 times as powerfull.

Xbox One Slim runs at 720p-900p for games.

PS4 pro will run games at 1440p-1800p.

Even if you only have a 1080p TV, you will notice games look much better on the PS4 Pro than the Xbox One slim.

 

Its known as Downsampling (or "Supersampling").

"Downsampling (also called Supersampling) is when you set your GPU to render a game at a higher resolution than your monitor can display, then rescale the image to fit your monitor's resolution."

^ imagine this for EVERY game you play on your TV even if its only a 1080p TV.

For me, I really need to ask myself if $100 extra is worth this upgrade since I own a 1080p televison.  And it's a damn nice one.

There are gens and mid gens.  It's perfect really.  Console gaming is perfected now imo.

Mid-gen? What does that mean? From what I'm seeing the PS4 Pro is just a PS4 that renders at 4k. Nothing else.

Not really. The difference in gens is mainly defined by power increases. This is a sizeable increase, but not as big as a full gen upgrade, making it a half-gen console.

No, that's not how gens are defined. A new PS generation will come along when a console is released that plays games that are not playable on the PS4.
