The best one comes to mind is Clash on the Big Bridge. It is only few, but at least what I recall, they were the best songs on the OST.

Some reimaginations of musics doesn't mean the OST should be discarded, much less one of such high quality.

Also the game intro, The Prelude, is by far the best version of this so damn iconic theme.

That is fair, but I think that is why a lot of Final Fantasy don't put it so high, plus obviously everyones obsession over Nobuo.

I think the problem with Final Fantasy XII OST is some of it considered remix version of an existing theme. 

It borrows from FFIV as well.  XII was the first non-Nobuo Uematsu soundtrack, and in my opinion the worst of the series.

Speaking of FF IV, that is clearly the soundtrack of the 20th century.

This century?  Possibly Xenoblade 1, or Super Mario Galaxy.
