Forums - Nintendo - Do you think Daisy is a clone of Peach? (in Super Mario)

So I was talking to someone from the internet about Daisy and got a harsh response.

The question is why would she have one? She's a bottom of the barrel character belonging to a franchise that has gotten plenty of coverage with a minimal fanbase who can easily and inexpensively be made into a clone that would require, at absolute most, different particle effects and a slight alteration to her neutral B. Why go through any additional trouble just to implement a character that few people care about?

So that raised the question...do you think Daisy is too similat to Princess Peach? Or do you think she is different enough to stand out in games like a future Smash Bros?

Pretty much. Just like Peach is a clone of Pauline.

Pretty much, but at least Daisy is the better clone.

She's better.

Luigi and Mario have clearly different personalities... Peach and Daisy are almost identical characters other than appearance and voice.

According to the Mario wiki Daisy used to have her own kingdom, Sarasaland (that was in Super Mario land for the gameboy). But now she's just some kind of cohort for Peach. Poor ha.

Rosalina > Daisy

None of them has any personality, so its based on the design?

Meh, both of them are pretty mediocre characters in my eyes. Peach and Daisy could get replaced by other princeses and I don't think anyone would care.

Rosalina is a strong independent woman.
