But if Nintendo does not get more ambitious and take more chances with its games, the NX won t sell well-  just like the Wii U

Well if ambition is the problem, then they can fix that. Would be worse if people are getting tired of their franchises.

They def can fix their ambition, effort etc-  Will they?   I m not so sure yet-  we will see

But their franchises are great-  that is what is so amazing - they are starting with such an advantage but they manage to squander it

Around the Network

I can't blame Nintendo for trying to do what they think will work.

Which is what they do mostly.
In hind-sight though, they did just about EVERYTHING wrong when launching the Wii U, and then they proceeded to doing alot of things wrong with the game line-up.

When they learn something doesn't work, they usually re-adjust.

Just not as fast with the home consoles as with their handhelds. They knew they'd be in deep shit if the 3DS failed. So they cut the price, redesigned it, and continued to put out some heavy hitting titles.

Sony went one step further with saving the PS3. New model, new price, new campaign, even a new logo.
But Nintendo hasn't done shit to save the Wii U, aside from giving 3DS owners some incentive to buy in. Which hasn't worked.

They must be putting all the effort into the NX. I think it's going to be great.

Nintendo usually makes arcade style or more straight forward games. They are not going to make an in-depth game like GTA or Skyrim. Its too expensive for them and without third party support, they need to pump out games. Its been really bad this gen, so quality has decreased for several of their franchises in the past 2 years.

Nintendo have more money than Take Two and Bethesda. A huge AAA game is not too expensive for them, but they just don't take risks like other publishers do. They can hire more devs and studios to make more games with the billions they have, but they don't have the will to do so.

The problem was HD development. Money and man power can doesn't necessarily make things easier since they admitted that HD development was more time consuming and more complicated. If everyone was having no trouble when HD games were a thing back in gen 7, then Nintendo was bound to have those problems as well and they openly admitted to it. Add to the fact that they also had to support the 3DS. If they pulled a Sony, then maybe they would've put more focus on Wii U. But they didn't. And in the end, it's too late since NX is on the way and sales are not going to get better at this point.

Only Wii U titles have been very ambitious, at least in the beginning.

Mario Kart was amazing with not only it's antigravity aspect, and them adding players and tracks from different series. I would challebge you to play the F-Zero course and not have a smile on your face.

Splatoon is a new Ip and has become a phenomenon. If you tell me you cannot see how much time and effort has been put into literally every aspect of the game then I can see why you're upset with the Wii U.

Smash Bros has its biggest and best roster it has ever had hands down. This installment also has online tournaments and stage creators, and it hits a lot of the right strides in the competitive scene as well. It is also a hell of an ambitious game.

They took a chance with Platinum games and created a new IP with Wonderful 101. With its flaws it is still an incredibly ambitious title, and one of the best platinum titles released this gen.

Pikmin 3 is pretty much a visual masterpiece, and is easily one of the best looking games with a realistic style you will find on Wii U, or any similar hardware. It also has great level design and you would be hard pressed to find a more polished game.

Hyrule Warriors is also a very ambitious collaboration which you can ask anyone pretty much surpassed peoples expectations with its content.

Xenoblade X feels like it's most ambitious Wii U game to date, possibly even edging out LoZ BOTW, due to it adding in useful gamepad functionality. Nothing felt cheap or phoned in on that title, and hopefully it's the first in a long prosperous game series.

Last, Mario Maker is another game that is obviously a serious ambitious undertaking. Trying to get that gamento work as smoothly as it does seems like a hell of a task.

You can add in the chances they took and money they spent on Bayo 2, Fatal Frame, and Tokyo Mirage Sessions or not, but those were also huge risks which at least paid off in satisfaction of the people who played them.

Seems kind of strange to say they haven't been ambitious due to having a 3D Mario you didn't care for, a Zelda that obviously ambitious as hell but "doesn't count", and no Metroid.
