I can't blame Nintendo for trying to do what they think will work.

Which is what they do mostly.
In hind-sight though, they did just about EVERYTHING wrong when launching the Wii U, and then they proceeded to doing alot of things wrong with the game line-up.

When they learn something doesn't work, they usually re-adjust.

Just not as fast with the home consoles as with their handhelds. They knew they'd be in deep shit if the 3DS failed. So they cut the price, redesigned it, and continued to put out some heavy hitting titles.

Sony went one step further with saving the PS3. New model, new price, new campaign, even a new logo.
But Nintendo hasn't done shit to save the Wii U, aside from giving 3DS owners some incentive to buy in. Which hasn't worked.

They must be putting all the effort into the NX. I think it's going to be great.
