The problem was HD development. Money and man power can doesn't necessarily make things easier since they admitted that HD development was more time consuming and more complicated. If everyone was having no trouble when HD games were a thing back in gen 7, then Nintendo was bound to have those problems as well and they openly admitted to it. Add to the fact that they also had to support the 3DS. If they pulled a Sony, then maybe they would've put more focus on Wii U. But they didn't. And in the end, it's too late since NX is on the way and sales are not going to get better at this point.
