Most people would likely have thought this as well. However, during the 3DS Nintendo Direct there was mention that the new Zelda Amiibos will work with Zelda:BotW. This to me confirms the NX will have NFC support and more specifically Amiibos.

Yea, including NFC probably isn't that expensive. I'd say there is almost a 100% chance of them including it. Probably the Smash port to NX will share the same Amiibos so they can just go ahead and do small batches of re-releases of the old ones.

Well it's not that big of a news since we already knew that Wolf Link and the other 3 Zelda Amiibos revealed at E3 would work with the game...

I would think the opposite would be more surprising.
Honestly think iOS and Android will have Amiibo support soon too ... most phones/tablets have NFC these days.
Almost a certainty, I just hope it doesn't get in the way too often.
