I'm disappointed. All Nintendo had to do to make sure Wii U owners got all the games is make a DS player. Instead Wii U owners got next to nothing.

They made a good business decision, that is all. The WiiU was not wrll recieved by the masses, why not put their software on the more popular platform? It is not like these games are not also on WiiU for you to play on the TV, so people need to stop bashing Nintendo for not showing it much attention lately.

They dropped the ball, they know that. Instead of beating a dead horse and pushing a dead console, get the most out of your software and release it on 3DS. Focus efforts on the NX and move forward.

In the long term, this is the better choice. People need to wake up and realize that.

Depends on what the NX is. If it's basically the Wii U-2 with only a minor hardware update and a new gimmick of two throw into the box ... I think people have a right to be pissed off.

That is a major assumption at this point.  The fact is, Nintendo is moving forward with the NX and giving their more successful 3DS software support.  This is a good thing no matter how you look at it.

Your assumption is only relevant if an when it is revealed to be gimp.  At that point, yes people can be pissed.  But right now?  No one has a real reason to be upset other than false entitlement.

I'm happy tho

I dont mind them porting games to the 3DS.

I bought the Wii U a year after launch knowing the chances of a turn around were slim to none, and since then I've bought a couple of dozen good to amazing retail games, a dozen or so Virtual Console games, and a dozen really good downloadable games. I've had hundreds of hours of multiplayer with, for my money, the two best versions in their respective franchises (Smash and Kart), and along with Splatoon, Xenoblade X, Rayman Legend, Tropical Freeze and Bayonetta 2 they're some of my favourite games of the generation. It was great to finally get a new Pikmin title, and I loved spin-offs like Captain Toad and Hyrule Warriors. I knew when I bought it support may dry up quickly, and that only Nintendo would stick around, so I'm just about ok with it. The system is a commercial failure and that was always going to be reflected in the software output of the device.

I'm not really sure why 3DS ports offend people. More Nintendo consumers get to enjoy these games over a year after they were available on Wii U. Granted I play across multiple formats so I can see that Wii U only owners would have had a harder time, especially if they bought the system at launch, but for me it's worked quite well and I've got a lot of use out of it in the time I've had it.

Naturally I hope NX is a better product and finds a bigger audience, because that'll mean more software over a longer life-span.

EDIT: And I still have Tokyo Mirage Sessions to play, am yet to pick up Mario Maker (not sure about the 3DS version), I might get Pokken Tournament, I'm yet to play NSMB U, plus I'm keeping an open mind about Paper Mario. On top of that, there's no guarantee I'm getting an NX at launch, so I may yet use Breath of the Wild on my Wii U.

There, the sign of Super Mario Maker 3DS.

I've had tons of fun with my Wii U. I have had my worth paid for a million times over. But I can understand it hurts to see the 3DS get tons of support while the Wii U gets none. The console is dead. I wont say I feel betrayed since I feel the abondoning of the console is for the greater good.

Yeah, this. I don't get the mentality of gamers sometimes.

I suppose it can be a problem in certain situations.
Say you have a 3DS, but want to play certain games that are only on WiiU. So you buy a WiiU and then they end up on 3DS afterwards.
I can see why some may regret the purchase then.

Games get ported from one system to another all the time. Still not really seeing any justification for all the outrage. It's one thing to complain about the Wii U being poorly supported by Nintendo (which it is). But I'm not going to complain about some graphically degraded handheld port of a game I enjoyed on a console.

Wait, people are actually surprised that Nintendo abandoned the Wiiu? In 2016?
