Forums - Nintendo - Harmonix and EA are blatently lying about Wii Guitar Compatability!

Realizing that I wasn't going to get Rockband for the Wii because of the lack of compatabilty with the Activision Guitar I sought other routes to ensure I got my Music Genre fix. So I downloaded Frets on Fire. I also downloaded the GlovePie program that Johnny Lee is so fond of that allows you to connect the wiimote to a bluetooth enabled laptop. Along with that came a script for allowing use of the Les Paul Activision Guitar.

Guess what? It works perfectly with it.

EA is flat out lying about the reasons for incombatability had they done a proper job of porting Rockband to the Wii and used the Wii Remotes to provide the electronics instead of shipping repainted Playstation 2 hardware the Les Paul would work just fine.

PS: If anyone is interested in getting Frets on Fire and the Wii Guitar set up detailed instructions can be found at www.wiili.org

Have activision fixed the mono sound debacle with GH3 game or do they still sell the dud version in the shops or do they still think people will just buy a broken game and not bother sending in for a replacement disc?

Welcome to three months ago. As in they did fix it, and you seem to be just trying to distract from the point here.

Plus calling it a dud is a lie. The game is still playable in either version.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

As the Guitar itself is just like any other plug in for the Wii remote you just have to give the Wii remote the data through the game to play with the activision guitar, and yes it's probably EA being lazy/wanting to nickle and dime everyone buying the Wii version for all their worth, I mean they're releasing it months after the original they could at least put in Online support, its all a blatant cash in and lazy port of the PS2 version. I mean if a dev wanted to make the guitar work with lets say... Smash Brothers, all they would have to do is program the commands, all the data is universal because its sent through the Wii remote it's not unique programming. EA wants you to buy THEIR guitar not Activision's.

sherlock stop posting this much or I will never catch up with you on post acount(noooo)

ot:EA sucks nobody is going to buy rockband wii so who cares.

Is it that the Rock Band guitar isn't compatible with Guitar Hero III or that both guitars aren't compatible with the others' game? If Guitar Hero III's guitar isn't compatible with Rock Band either then it's both publishers' faults.

So you guys are mad at EA for something Harmonix did?

Love the product, not the company. They love your money, not you.

If it wasn't for a few ports, I would downright hate EA.
