Forums - Gaming - EA has been really silent on Mass Effect Andromeda!

Are you worried that the game will be bad because BioWare (NOT EA) hasn't shown off much of the game? You'll see a little more in the fall but I don't think people should be expecting to see much more than we already have. The game is being kept under wraps and will be a surprise. BioWare has always kept the lid on things. People don't need to worry, it'll be a good game. I'm feeling pretty damn confident that there isn't any sneaky shady bullshit going on.

No, I'm just worried we won't see anything before release. All the Mass Effect games have had gameplay being shown at E3. Either they're delaying the game; wanting to surprise us, or simply just hoping we don't realize its disappointing.

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

True, maybe we'll see something at the game awards. A little segment from the begining of the game wouldn't hurt them. They defiantely do want to suprised, and most of all. They don't want any expectations. People made expectations and felt mislead with ME3. Something that wasn't intentional, and of course there was some unfotunate development woes. By keeping quite they can keep a lid on that from happening again. BioWare games are MASSIVE and things can happen.  As for the game itself being bad. I don't think you need to worry about that too much. They are taking precautions. I'm sure of it :)
I don't see the game getting delayed again. I don't see why it would need to be either. It's pretty much just polish, polish, polish until it goes gold. Maybe continue to polish with a day one patch and go!

maybe they want to push the NX verion since it's coming in March (?)

Jokes aside I'm pretty shur it'll be delayed (while there's still plenty of time to talk about it), pretty much like The Last Guardian...

Yep, it will very likely be delayed.

Oh ok but I'm not sure if they will have enough time to market the game and its still weird they skip Gamescon.

How much time do you need to market a game that is the 4th in its franchise? They could basically put up a web page that is a black background with the N7 logo and the "Andromeda XX March 2017" on it in February and the internet would be all abuzz within 24 hours. Then in late feburary put up a few youtubes of gameplay, and some cut scenes. And that's your marketing. Does it need more than that?

Well it likely has to compete with Horizon, so it does have some competetition on PS4. Zelda also releases in the same time frame, so Andromeda as a sincere change to become undersnowed, if they wouldn't invest in marketing on at least the PS4.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

The lack of info about this game is worrying. We've even seen more of Zelda Breath of the Wild than from Andromeda!

I'd say that if we haven't heard/seen anything by the VGAwards, the game will be delayed for sure.

Please excuse my bad English.

Former gaming PC: i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Current gaming PC: R5-7600, 32GB RAM 6000MT/s (CL30) and a RX 9060XT 16GB

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

It sucks if it gets to delayed to late 2017. On the other hand, it would mean more time for Breath of the Wild!

They are trying to avoid letting negative press impact the game's success. They have just closed the Bioware forums to prevent people from having a place to complain collectively, They are trying to silence all potential complaints or critiques of the game. There are also rumors of them finally releasing a remastered of the first three games, perhaps their way of tiding fans over while they delay Andromeda some more.

All indications point to Andromeda's development having been (and being) problematic (all the departures of many high staff, absolutely no game play video this long after the game's announcement and this close to release, etc.). It would seem they want to wait until right before release to show more, to prevent people from dissecting and critiquing too much what little they show and to maximize sales.

I feel like it will be delayed.
