Hum, I always doubt something really original can come to existence, but often I am proved wrong.
In the WiiU case, I was impressed, bought the thing just to play ZombiU. And to this day is one of my favorite WiiU games, also Scribblenauts was pretty fun.
But overall, the WiiU was a huge disapointment, to me at least.
I still remember dreamming about playing Alien Colonial Marines as a horror survival, which Alien Isolation also prove that was a silly dream anyways.
Even Fatal Frame failed in my opinion, falling into the "big breasts, small talent" type of design of late KoeiTecmo games, which is a huge fall from grace from the 3 first games of the series.
I am VERY interested in the NX, but I will not buy it on launch because Nintendo has a lot to prove before I fully trust them again.

How was Fatal Frame V worse than 1 and 3 exactly?

2 also. The first 3 are among my favorite horror games ever. The thing that turned me off right away from the WiiU game was the loss of simplicity, which is something hard to explain in words, but the addition of stuff that kind took the mistery and horror away from the experience right away, at least to me.

Also the WiiU edition felt "gamish" to me, but the first 3 felt like a Tomie movie or something.

It is mainly this, the horror wasn´t there, it felt too much as a Koei modern game and it was confusing to me, even in controls, which suppose to be intuitive with the tablet controler.

I assume you are a fan of the new game, so just take this as my opinion only, not gospel. I am 34 years old, so a lot of stuff that were amusing to me 10 years ago are not anymore, so yes, me being a bitter jaded individual has a lot to do with it.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

Don't get too excited. While I'm interested what they come up with, Nintendo tend to try and keep things cheap and make money on their consoles. I think they learnt their lesson from having an expensive controller bumping up the price of the Wii U.

Truth, they said they wanted to keep it around $250 didn't they? This as way back when they very first announced the thing.

they never said that, but he has a point.

It sounds like it's going to be innovative either way. I love hardware announcements so the Xbox One S, PS stuff and NX will make it an exciting year. Looking forward to the Scorpio proper reveal next year

I'm just thinking about why I would buy a Nintendo system:

- 3D Mario
- Zelda
- 3D Donkey Kong
- Pokemon Stadium
- Lylat Wars
- Diddy Kong racing
- Maybe an old skool top down Zelda
- A new attempt at making a game like perfect dark
- luigi's mansion

Everything I want from Nintendo doesn't need a gimmick. I'm happy with a solid Nintendo console and a traditional controller.

Well, I can understand how it was worse than 2, that game was the Final Fantasy VII of that series where everything just seemed perfect from the ground up.

But Fatal Frame 1 was not that great of a game to be honest. It had a simple story, and the strangulation ritual was fine, but very straight forward. Also, no camera upgrades left combat feeling stale.

Fatal Frame 3 was just simply boring. The worst of the three as far as story telling. A curse in the form of tattoos and unfolding a mystery in a nightmare that only effects lone survivors of a tragedy... I really couldn't connect with this story, and I think the best ghost stories told are ones where it can hapen to you. This is the one that took me FOREVER to finish.

Fatal Frame V hits very close to FF2 for me. A fairly big world (though you do go through the locations mulitple times with its 3 protagonist story. A very deep and interesting story where you can see how the ritual evolved through numerous rituals. Soul glances give back story on numerous ghosts and really give a sense of how long this ritual has bee going on, and how far the reach of the curse is, which is increased when the ghosts show up at the protagonists house. Three camera obscuras you can customize, beautiful visuals, great use of the gamepad (IMO of course), great music, there is just a boatload of things to unlock in the game with one of the most fleshed out rituals in any FF.

The multi-tool in that photo looks heavy, awkward, and inferior in functionality to specialized tools. If that were a gaming console then it would never be the best option for anything and instead offer a bunch of half-assed experiences where each feature has scatter-shot support--kind of like the Wii U game-pad except even more fragmented.

The only gimmick the NX needs is that it offers a greatly expanded catalog of games. Supporting features should be logical and easy to adapt to a variety of games or services.
