Forums - Sony - Will Gt5 improve on GT5P graphically in any meaningfull way?

I think with the full game they will also make you have an impact on the enviroment, like tire marks that are actually left by you and not there before

Wait. Prologue doesn't have damage?

I always thought the reason Sony couldn't have damage in GT but Microsoft could have it in Forza was that GT had more cars so it was too much of a legal hassle to sort out.

Why is this a problem with only a small number of cars in Prologue?

It's not a big technical problem, the cars in Gran Turismo are based on the real car models from the manufacturers. The developers need to ask for permission to destroy their cars, some manufacturers have been slow to warm up to the idea, but the devs stated they are sure the legal work will be worked out soon.

For a game like Motorstorm they didn't use real car models, just car models inspired by existing models. So those devs could do whatever they want with these virtual cars, like they did.

if I were to guess, I would say the damage code is already done, or very far into the development phase. The way the head guy said damage will be coming "very very soon", sounds to me like more of a legal issues then a technical one.

I would bet that that once all the manufacturers are on board, it will be a download.

As for graphical updates, I would like to see weather effects added to GT5. Not sure if that's strictly considered graphical improvements though.

It could happen.

I suppose it depends on what you mean by meaningful.
But; no, there will not be significant changes to the final build in the full game, they've worked on the engine for 4 years!

Expect GT5 to arrive in about 12 months. I expect GT5 to marginally improve upon GT5 P. GT6 would probably be here in 4 to 5 years time maybe a PS4 launch title.

I think there may be minor graphical improvements to GT5 from Prologue.

As for GT6, i sure as hell hope its on PS3, and doesn't fade to PS4. There seems to be 2 GT games per generation. GT1 and GT2 were on PSone, GT3 and GT4 were on PS2. GT5 and hopefully GT6 will be on PS3.

I think it would be amazing if Gran Turismo 7 was a launch title for PS4.

They dont need to improve graphics, they need to improve the racing. If they dont it will remain second best. better AI and Damage for online especially. At the moment it has more in common with PGR 4 online than simulation.
