Same here, i'm 97K light years away.

Did you use black holes to get that far?

Yes, a crap ton of them lol. That with the combination of the Theta Warp Drive, you get about 2K light years closer each time.  I spent hours a few days ago just warping, farming, repairing. It's a bitch.

Yeah I was advised to not use them because they do damage. Is it worth taking the damage then?

I'm about the same distance. Omegon is a bitch to find and needed for a lot of the higher upgrades.

Are you going to go straight to the centre or see if you can work out how the game works? I'm tempted to wait but I can always do more research on my second galaxy.

Which solar system type do you prefer? I tend to gravitate towards the Gs and the Os but I'm begining to wonder if the 'colour' of the space the planet is in has some baring on what you'll find there. The elements also share the same colouration too and although they're supposed to have symbols of the elements on them, I reckon they could be planet configurations.

Apparently it's not too unusual to lose a lot of players. Read this piece by PC Gamer for comparison to other games. It's not doing very well and the drop is sharper than other games, but it's not that much worse than a lot of other games. Obviously there are serious problems with the game, but it's not as dramatic as it sounds.

I have to ask: what is the source of this image?

Looks like Steam Spy, I think. It's a valid site.

I've never bothered with Steam Spy so I'll have to take your word for it.

Depends. What I do is equip the +1 damge for my photon and theta warp drive only. 9/10 my photon upgrade takes the damage which is an easy repair. If your your Warp drive takes the hit though it's a pain in the ass to farm for resources.

Also if you feed the animals they'll eventually dig up little red stones you can pick up that can have Omegon

I'm going to mess around a bit to get my ship and equipment they way I want it then concentrate on getting to the center.

This isn't a multiplayer game, right? Like, I understand this number being considered catastrophic for an online multiplayer only title, but from what I've read NMS is a single player title that you hit & quit rather than a run & gun treadmill.

(All these NMS threads are irritating. I'd like to try it, but the wife has basically abducted the PS4 upon discovering the Witcher 3; I hope to see it again in about a month.)

Have you seen the round monoliths yet? I was stood there for ages to see if anything happened when the sun set or when the sun went down lol. There is a symbol at the front on the floor. If you look at it closely it appears to be three separate circles, one of which is out of alignment with the design, almost as if it should turn at some point.

I havent played it but I anticipate solid legs in the long run and maybe it will get better via patches.

It appealed to a larger audience then it deserved. I feel the developers knew expections were bigger than the game could deliver to the masses.
