Forums - Movies & TV - BBC - the 100 greatest films of the 21st Century

Some bad movies in there among the great ones. First off i love let the right one in, surprised that made the list. AI belongs on the list of the worst movies of all time. Requiem for a dream is probably the hardest movie to watch i've ever seen, it's so unbearable. Also no thank you to Brokeback Mountain, the assassin, and zero dark thirty. I didn't like there will be blood at all, but I guess others did.

currently playing: Skyward Sword, Mario Sunshine, Xenoblade Chronicles X

Pretty solid list, happy to see Wes Anderson got multiple entries. Strange that Moon is not on the list.

Geez. I've seen 25 out of 100. I really need to watch more movies.

Some impressions, though:

· Really, really impressed to see There Will be Blood on the top 3, but I'm not really sure it deserves it. It sure as hell has one of the most stellar performances of Daniel Day-Lewis and Paul Dano, and a gratifying and shocking movie altogether, but there's an important pacing problem with the movie at a certain point.

· Her deserves to be in a much, much better position.

· Of all the Spielberg's XXI movies, A.I. is the one that takes position here? Really? No Minority Report? No The Terminal? No goddamn masterpiece Catch Me if You Can?

· The Secret in their Eyes is a magnificent movie, one I strongly recommend to anyone who hasn't seen it yet. Also consider me a Darín fanboy.

· Shame is great, but it is in no way, shape or form a better movie than The Pianist.

· I see City of God listed there, but no mention of Tropa de Élite. Which is terrible, really.

· I really didn't enjoy The Social Network all that much. I find shocking that people would prefer it to the likes of Spotlight, for example. Not to mention less-related movies like Oldboy, Brokeback Mountain or The Wolf of Wall Street.

· This list needs more sci-fi. There's never enough sci-fi.

· I'd glady take any Nolan movie stated here (Particulary The Dark Knight) and swap it for Interstellar.

· As much as I loved Cuarón's Children of Men (amazing movie!), I'm really really glad Gravity wasn't listed here.

· Pan's Labyrinth has always made me hungry for a horror-action videogame with the Spanish Civil War as its setting.

Have you ever seen this film Wright?

It is usually very overlooked but I think is a masterpiece and I have the feeling you may really like it.

74. Spring Breakers (Harmony Korine, 2012)
Lol

Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

What a joke! No Lord of the Rings means this list has no weight whatsoever. Return of the King has the record for the most oscars and is placed in the top 10 films on imdb. Its the greatest trilogy of all time and it's really hard to disagree with that. You cant take this list seriously at all if they failed to mention at least one of the Lotr's films.

Ctrl + F Lord of the rings... No results found... #ListIgnored

Yeah, that's also why the list is laughable.

Also missing Interstellar... Still I try to watch all these movies some time.

As several have said already, at least one of the Lord of the Rings movies should be on that list. That's my only real gripe.

Is really stupid to think a list is shit or has no weight because one single movie you like is not in there even when there's a huge amount of other modern classics in it.
