I'm very proud that somehow Nintendo was able to make this happen.  I don't ever seeing it come to the Xbox One.  It wouldn't surprise me to see it on the PS4.  But this will be a system seller for the NX.  Nintendo already has their commited fanbase, and now any rpg fan has to buy into the NX because of Dragon Quest XI.  I want a Limited Edition Dragon Quest NX.  And I've always prefer Dragon Quest over Final Fantasy.  And I love my avatar (as of this post).  Don't you?

It was announced for PS4 the same time as 3ds.

I'm interested in what the NX version of the game will be, it's hard to say before the NX is revealed so who knows if it'll be an upgraded/downgraded ps4 version or an upgraded 3ds version, or it's own version of the game entirely(unlikely).

If Nintendo's new console is a handheld in some shape or form I don't find it surprising in the slightest, it'll definitely get a ton of support from Japanese developers.

far as I know it's been confirmed for PS4, 3DS and NX. And that's not exactly "news".

NX version could be the ps4 version  and the 3ds version together.

Somehow, I missed the PS4 Dragon Quest XI announcement, and I SOMEHOW missed it mentioned in the VGChartz article. Oblivious thread of the week.

I'm pretty happy about this because I never played a Dragon Quest game before, but XI looks awesome and now that the NX version is confirmed I'm 100% sure I'll buy it. This is exactly the kind of game that I want from third-parties, games that just "fit" on a Nintendo console y'know.

It really depends on the state of each game. Although Dragon Quest XI PS4 looks amazing, it wont' sell better than the 3DS version. With this in mind, the question is will current 3DS owners get the NX version. If the NX version is a port of the 3DS version then yeah, the NX version will be a system seller in Japan. But if it's just a port of the PS4 version with downgraded graphics, I don't know that that version would sell better than the 3DS version or if people will buy a NX just for a downgraded port. The success that Dragon Quest XI brings on NX is currently pending with the reveal of NX.

It will help the NX in Japan, specially since it might not be just a port of either the PS4 or 3DS version.

It would help the NX if it was NX-Exclusive, but I dunno how much can it help if its comming to the PS4 and most people already have that console.
