300% improvement over last year in NA isn't Good??

@darth; Of course it is, but that speaks more of how horrid last years numbers were than anything else.
Numbers are still not high despite percentage increases that look good on paper, same with Japan; overall percentage increase without any good numbers.
Bottom line is; it needs more numbers in NA and Japan rather than percentage increases that look flashy in theory, it doesn't take a lot to improve upon practically nothing...

yes I agree about Japan, the situation there is horrid, but in NA 80K isn't to shabby

but yeah lets hope for EU like numbers there after GTA IV hits

A 33% reduction in price on the PS3 would drastically improve sales figures. $600 launch price for the PS3 in the NA put a lot of people off, now its $400 for a PS3. Over in Australia it was $1000 for a PS3 on its launch in march 2007, now its $700.

Next week in Europe the PS3 could hit 170k with the launch of GT5 P being bundled with PS3 plus Call of Duty 4 by retailers.

Price has always been an important factor for console sales, PS2 was a monster and somehow it still is a money maker, but people forget that it was launched in the US market at the price of $299.

Considering PS360 sales horrid only because wii sales are amazing is not a good way to see the whole scenario.

But i thought these numbers were high because they were taking into account the pre-orders...? If thats the case then how could it be higher with this weeks data lol

yes but thats not the point, SONY chose that, now they need try to get back on track towards sales like PS2

Expect GT5 P to sell like crack in the EU. It will sell fast, a lot of people buy a PS3 in Europe to play racing and sports games and do not care about shooters.
