Forums - Nintendo - Metroid Prime: Federation Force may point to a Metroid Prime 4

Can we have another Metroid that isnt "Prime"?

Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.

Because of the lack of Metroid this gen I demand Metroid Prime 4 and a Super Metroid remake on a 2.5D engine similar as Tropical Freeze but with more advanced lightning. That would make the NX instantly awesome and worth buy.

Yup, let's just hope Tanabe doesn't lose interest in Metroid, without him, God knows when Sakamoto will be producing another Metroid game, it's incredible that a person so close to the creation of Metroid doesn't focus 100% on the games for that series, especially given how successful it has proven to be

If Tanabe loses interest in Metroid, then all we have left is 2D Metroid pretty much.

yeah, shure, like if 2D Metroid was a thing anymore, nobody at Nintendo will ever make a 2D Metroid again...

Maybe Sakamoto could make a good 2D Metroid? He fucked up with Other M, but he probably deserves a second chance.

Next Level Games is the logical choice since they worked on Federation Force

NLG should never, ever be allowed near the Metroid series again, especially not a main console entry.

One thing I hate is teasing of a character/story. But the next entry isn't paying it off. And keeps on teasing. That's a waste of my time. If you're gonna tease. You tease should be the next game. Not something that's 10 years later.

Next Level Games is the logical choice since they worked on Federation Force, if not just them, then possibly them collaborating with some Monolith Soft developers: since Monolith Soft developers are already working on BotW it might be a smart move by Nintendo to stop whatever development is going on at Monolith Soft with the remaining members of the team and make them collaborate with NLG on MP4 at least until BotW is released, an additional say 50 developers for the next 7 months (at least since Zelda isn't confirmed to come out in March) would make them advance A LOT in the development, the title might even be ready 1/2 years afterwards. Once BotW is released all Monolith Soft developers go back to their next RPG which has been worked on since probably May 2015 (month following Xenoblade X's release) at least by a portion of the the team

uhm after this Federation Force garbage I don't trust Next Level Games at all. beyond the gameplay just being wrong to be associated with Metroid, visually its also hugely lacking, even if it is a handheld game.

If Next Level Games doesn't work on it, then there won't be another Metroid game for another 6/7 years. While I know for shure that the whole Federation concept for MPFF was created by Tanabe and Nintendo I think the Chibi artstyle was their fault aswell. Not only NLG is the only western studio capable of making a Metroid game (since Retro seems to have lost interest in the IP) but beeing western they are most likely to listen to the fans' feedback about Federation Force, which should indicate them the right direction to follow with MP4.

At this point, 6/7 years more years without Metroid would be preferable to the series continually getting dragged through the mud with garbage like Other M and Federation Force. NLG had their shot and the results were disastrous, the series needs a restraining order against them.

It's just unfair to count NLG out when they were forced to not make a regular Metroid game AND it was on a Handheld AND the concept wasn't made by them. Plus I suggested to make Monolith Soft developers work alongside NLG since they are used to creating alien creatures and Robot-like suits and weapons in their games...
