Forums - Nintendo - Metroid Prime: Federation Force may point to a Metroid Prime 4

" 3DS Metroid Prime spinoff Federation Force may not appeal to all Nintendo fans - but a big hint for the next Metroid Prime game likely will. An intriguing scene set after Federation Force's credits shows a Metroid egg being hatched and stolen from the friendly Galactic Federation. The culprit is never fully shown, although fans have suggested it appears to be Metroid Prime Hunters' Sylux.

This would make sense: back at E3 2015, Metroid Prime series boss Kensuke Tanabe told me it was Sylux's ship that appeared in the post-credits scene for Metroid Prime 3, chasing series heroine Samus Aran, and that he would like to feature the character of Sylux more fully in a future game. "

"Personally I'd like to create a story centring around Sylux and Samus," Tanabe told Eurogamer. "We've done a story based on the Hunters, and this time around we're doing a story on the Galactic Federation. I would like to cross the two over in the future. And of course see a little more of Samus."

I really hope this is all true and we get up getting Metroid Prime 4! It has been so damn long since the last Metroid I've truly enjoyed. I wonder who would work on it since Retro might be working on a new IP.. Hmm.

Prime 4 or not, Metroid NX better be awesome.

In the wilderness we go alone with our new knowledge and strength.

Next Level Games is the logical choice since they worked on Federation Force, if not just them, then possibly them collaborating with some Monolith Soft developers: since Monolith Soft developers are already working on BotW it might be a smart move by Nintendo to stop whatever development is going on at Monolith Soft with the remaining members of the team and make them collaborate with NLG on MP4 at least until BotW is released, an additional say 50 developers for the next 7 months (at least since Zelda isn't confirmed to come out in March) would make them advance A LOT in the development, the title might even be ready 1/2 years afterwards. Once BotW is released all Monolith Soft developers go back to their next RPG which has been worked on since probably May 2015 (month following Xenoblade X's release) at least by a portion of the the team

NLG seems to be the logical choice, in this way Tanabe is still involved in the production of the game. There was a rumor that he wanted Retro to work on Prime 4, but they didn't want to do that so there was a small conflict and now Tanabe is no longer the producer of Retro games. It's just a rumor, but seems likely to me.

I was cautious on FF. I had hoped it'd show something about Sylux, and I've talked about it before in the Metroid thread I think, but this alone makes me like the game more lol. I'll pick it up eventually..

Yup, let's just hope Tanabe doesn't lose interest in Metroid, without him, God knows when Sakamoto will be producing another Metroid game, it's incredible that a person so close to the creation of Metroid doesn't focus 100% on the games for that series, especially given how successful it has proven to be

Let's hope so!

If Tanabe loses interest in Metroid, then all we have left is 2D Metroid pretty much.

Could we at least have a Super Metroid Collection? A compilation of all the 2D Metroid redone with modern sprites, Super Mario All-Stars style. Launc that game with the NX, because it really isn't that big of a task.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I'm sure there's enough talent at Nintendo to make a metroid without tanabe. I honestly don't care if he stays or goes at this point, part of me doesn't want him back after federation force. The only thing I want to see brought back from that game is this plot thread
