Forums - Gaming - Less Than One Percent Of No Man’s Sky Players Reported Issues

Nowhere, yet that's exactly what they are suggesting by saying that.

No they're not. They're saying only 1% have reported issues. This is the typical example of how people are twisting the narrative to perpetuate an agenda.

Even IF they don't suggest it. You definitely use it as "proof" to downplay NMS' problems... Right in the first sentence of this thread: "It just goes to show how the internet represents such a small percentage of gamers and how a tiny vocal minority can make it look as if 'everyone' is having problems".

This is the typical example of how people are twisting the narrative to perpetuate an agenda.

I'm kind of curious about how many people have had crashes on PS4 considering I've had at least a dozen, and perhaps as many as twenty of them since I started playing. Majority being when I jump between systems, but also had a couple of the 'left the menu too fast' crashes, one crash that just randomly happened while flying, and one time I found a multitool blueprint dispenser that crashed the game. And I mean regularly. Just to test it out, tried the dispenser three times, every time the game crashed. JUST that one dispenser, the one in the building next door worked fine. (And if anyone wants to know, I'm only counting those three as 'one' crash when I say at least a dozen, as the other two I brought on myself. ;P )

So, yeah, if it were only one or two crashes I could see the majority of people having zero issues, but the game is such a mess on my system, I'm jealous of people who have had zero problems on identical hardware. =P

I've had 1 crash on the ps4 since launch.  Ironically after posting here.

I am ps4 digital.  I know it shouldn't matter but I really wonder if it's something different between disc and digital.  I believe people when they say it crashes alot for them on ps4 so I wonder if those people are disc buyers (which it seems is a high percentage on vgz) or digital.  Something is different.

Also, my only crash came after the update to fix crashes.

Yes, it's ironic to say the least.

The only ironic thing is how big of a NMS apologists some of you are, the intentions of this declaration are crystal clear, I don't understand why there's of a group of people that tries to make others believe everything is perfectly right with the game and no false claims have been made when both are far from the truth. You are allowed to like and even love the game without being blind about the whole situation around the current state of the game.

This is a funny post.  What else is he allowed to do or not do?  He might want to know the rules so as to avoid being put in timeout or something.

Perfectly bug wise or perfectly happiness wise?

I fail to see how a percentage of support tickets filed is the dev saying that same percent are the only ones unhappy.

It seems like the is a lot of things your failing to see.

I see the point GoodNight is making and he has a pretty good point. Most people who look at this comment will walk away believing only 1% of people are having problems with the game. Are you trying to say this wont happen? Are you trying to say Sean doesnt expect this to happen? .

It's not about being an apologist. That's swinging the needle in order to make people like me appear OTT. I'm fully aware of problems the game has but I'm not going to sit here and watch people laying a foundation of lies in order to build a false narrative for the future. Myself and others are simply trying to rebalance the needle, not wrench it completely out of the hands of those 'genuinely' concerned.

Who exactly is building a foundation of lies?. The only people i have seen build a foundation of lies is the Devs of this game, who promised people so many great things only to cut the biggest part of them 4 months ago after the game was delayed.

The other people who i have seen build a foundation of lies are the people who love the game and dont want to admit they where lied too. So instead of putting the blame where it should be on the dev they blame the players.

"OHH you guys are just attacking this game cos its on PS4" yes ya know cos the game is also not on PC and also not coming to X1...

"Well then its just PC people doing all the complianing cos it plays so bad" Nope!. For me the game plays perfectly never crashed never had a problem with it.

My problem is lack of content. ITs a shell of what was promised, the game is clearly an early access title being sold as a full priced finished game.

That last one is where most of the complaints are coming from.

So after Sean lies about the game up to release, cuts content from the game 4 months ago and doesnt explain to the fans. And now says only 1% of people have reported problems and you guys still willing to believe and defend and try saying other poeple are just doing this for nothing...

You NMS fans tried your best to tell us it was the fans that over hyped the game etc. It took a massive reddit thread to bring to light that it wasnt the fans it was sean murry....

And whats worse about it all is this.

Sean Clearly has the time to tweet that "Only 1% of people are having problems" . But he doesnt have the time to comfort his fans who he lied to?.

Why doesnt he be a man and come out and be honest with people for once be like

"Look guys im sorry we couldnt get multi player and much of the content we promised working for release, We just didnt want to delay this game anymore. But everything we promised we will bring to you with free updates" .

Instead we have nothing but silence from him and then tweeting how only 1% have problems.....

Fans like me are getting worried about the silence on this issue with the reasons being.

We where promised free updates

Much content was cut from the game 4 months ago after the game was delayed.

we are no longer promised free updates.

Silence on the issue from the devs..

it just better not be a thing most of that content was cut to be re added as payed DLC.

I'm trying to say the dev said what he said.  You and goodnight can infer what you like from it but at the end of the day he said what he said.

as another user posted the dev also said he hired a support team larger than his dev team to sort these issues and further says even 1 % is a large number and hopes to resolve around 70% of the bugs in a week.

Then he says they're "totally" focused on support right now then they'll work on new stuff later.

So no, it doesn't sound like he is saying "everything is going perfectly" as goodnight claims.

Probably cause most people are playing on ps4 and it seems to be running much better on console.

Looks at thread.. Sees more PS4 users complain about crashing in this thread (And other NMS threads on vgc) then i see PC users complaining about crash's.

Ive been playing the game on PC and i have not had 1 crash or any problems (Even with the older patchs) .

But then saying that ive always seemed to be lucky when it comes to things like this. I've noticed with a number of other so called buggy games ive been lucky with too compared to other users. Maybe my PC just really loves me xD.

I think both ps4 and pc users are having problems.  Obviously the dev needs to get it fixed and make it right.

So we're taking the word of the guy who misled people about the content of his game on how much criticism said game is receiving?

:D :D :D

I wonder if history will remember this game as a buggy, empty mess or if the game gets fixed and people forgive and move on. It sure has potential, but the industry moves so fast. Might be too late already. Then again, the money is already there - they're selling so much.

Ofcourse they will remember this. This video sums it up well https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8P2CZg3sJQ .

What also interesting and you see partially in that video that streamers got so many crashes but hardly report it, so far I only saw two people in stream report it and one of them you also see in that video. Report issue 'I paid 60$ for it'.

We have already seen this 1% number used to try say "Most of the complaints are just noise" even in the OP.

Clearly this is also what most other people are going to come away thinking when they read it. Clearly Sean knows this is what most people are going to think when they read it. You can deny this and say they wont all you want but facts is facts and its pretty clear what sean is doing here...

But a fact is some of the biggest complaints are coming from cut content. Why is Sean not taking time to talk about this? why is he ignoring the fact he lied to fans right up to release?. Why is he not putting fans minds at ease by explaining why this content had to be cut and how he plans on re adding it?.

Like i said he takes the time to throw out this "1%" number but doesnt take the time to comment on the real problem and thats cut content.

Instead he is silence on this issue. He hasnt explained why them two guys wasnt able to see each other even when he said it could be done.

He hasnt explained whats happened to the minecraft like crafting that was meant to be in the game.

He hasnt explained where all the fractions are or why you can no longer join them.

He hasnt explained where all the epic space battles are gone, I dont mean a battle with 5 or 6 ships too as you can see the battles in the game look nothing like the epic ones we where shown.

And this is just the tip of the ice. The is sooo much other stuff missing or been cut back its not even funny.

And like i said where is Sean Murry on all this?. Instead of being open and honest with people he is throwing out "1%" numbers..

Facts are.

Game shown that we where promised looks nothing like what you get

Sean Murry promised "All DLC will be free updates"

4 months ago game gets delayed for the last time with no proper reason giving and much of the promised content is now gone boom...

Sean Murry comes out and says "All DLC wont be free the will be paid DLC"

Game releases and massive fan complaints about cut content coming in.

Sean totally ignores this and gives out a 1% number of users having problems...

I think its clear where this is going but i really do hope im wrong.

Like i said No Mans sky has the protental to be a great game. But this half assed attempt is not the No Mans Sky we where promised, and facts are Sean is doing himself no favors by not commenting on the cut content or explaing to fans where things are going or how he is going to deal with this.

ATM! it looks like the content was cut 4 months ago to be re added as payed DLC...

I can totally understand how people who has not played many Survival games on PC might think of No Mans Sky as some great new thing. But fact is its just like 99% of the other Survival games on PC except with much less content and a Much higher Price tag.

You cant call the game a "Real" Space sim since its not thanks to missing many things that make the Space Genre great. And to be honest its not even a good Survival game since its missing many parts of the survival genre and much of its content. So pretty much we have a Half and Half that doesnt do any part very good..

But you know keep saying its just haters complaining and covering your head in the sand if you want but people have real issues here.

Ok, here is the deal.  The dev said they've had 1% support complaints.   As for what most other people think, I don't profess to read minds.  I haven't a clue what people will think by the statement.  I know what I thought and it wasn't what goodnight assumed.

None of this has anything to do with what the dev said.  % of support tickets filed do not equate to actual number of people with bugs nor does it have anything to do with people's emotional impressions on the game.  You can file a support ticket for crashes and still like the game or you can have no crashes and still hate the game.  They're unrelated to one another.

It is simply the % of complaints they've received on bugs in the game.  The dev even said it's a large number.

He could be lying (I'm not privy to their support ticket database) or he could be truthful.  Truth is if everyone is going to hate this dev because he implied features, down right lied about them or mislead on what to expect from the game they really should show restraint from doing the same IMO.

Of course everyone is free to do what they want and it's simply my opinion.  I wont say what you're "allowed" to do like the chap earlier.  Do what you like, I simply disagree and not because I'm an "apologists" or belong to a "group of people that tries to make others believe everything is perfectly right" or whatever other insulting thing Mr. goodnight comes up with.

How can you disagree with people calling out the Dev for down right lying??. How are people doing the same by calling him out on the matter?.

He could of fixed all this by just being honest with people. He still could if he would just give some proper comment on the cut content and what he plans on doing about it but instead we get silence and talk about how now the will be payed DLC.

How you can agree with this and disagree with fans who doesnt agree with it is beyond me, but like you said to each his own.

I never said I agree with anything you're saying I agree to.  I disagree that filing a support ticket means you're unhappy.  They're not related as I've already explained.

The rest of the stuff I did not offer an opinion on except that the dev needs to fix the issues with the game,  which of course, everyone conveniently ignores to fit the narrative being crafted in this and every thread related to this game.
