Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

Isn't it possible to delete threads along with the posts in them? That would explain it, I think. The system probably doesn't pick the first free ID for each post but the next one, with each post ever made (deleted or not) incrementing the counter by one.

A lot of posts might have been expunged. That's my guess for the discrepancy.

Ioi modified the post number in the race to get the 3 millionth post, basically skipping roughly 30k posts. If you look for posts roughly 2970000 through 2999999, they don't exist.
