Obviously the refund wasn't enough.

Was good enough, just as good as my free will and free speech in this forum, that's why I post threads. If I'm not attacking people in this forum I think I'm good, some people dislike my opinions and that's part of it.

Yeah, because I said you could not have free will or free speech o.O.  Pretty over the top response.

That's a little over the top don't you think? Each to their own I suppose. I'm not even sure what's he's supposed to have lied about, anything significant?

It's not much about the lies, it's more about the hype created by his vague statements, somewhat like peter molyneux. He lied about the multiplayer aspect too, but that's old stuff. Why I don't trust this guy or his company? because the PC port is worse than Arkham Knight, but he said that he was going to delay the game to polish the game. People can't run the game properly with a $1000 gpu, I bought the steam version yeah the performance issues are real, thank god for the refund button. Indie studio? so what? it's a $60 game even on pc, that's a AAA price.

so as you can see, I have reasons for my "hate"  not really hate, my distrust.  So people having a blast with the game need to understand that there are people annoyed by it. I DO HATE "the omg you are a hater" attitude of some people, it's not the same experience for everybody, jeez.

rant over, can we be friends again?

I agree about the PC situation,  they fucked up. I don't think he'd intentionally fuck over his own game like that though.

And I don't think he was vague, I see a hell lot of stuff about it before release. He was even on IGN every other week showing different aspects of the game I think there was a vid of one hour of pure gameplay. They did live streams prior to launch, I think he's been very open.

I do think people need to chill a little. Some people like it and some people don't. That's games for ya.

Lol I'm glad there will be dlc.

Anyway still not buying it until it's $40 and the superior neo version with all the patches. I'm gonna have a good experience me thinks. Just have to stay strong and hold out. All my ps4 friends are loving this. So tempting to give it. Must resist!!

gamers bullying a game developer who's working their asses off on a game so you guys can play it. If you don't want to play the game or if it doesn't appeal to your "gamer mentality", then don't play the game. Other people will enjoy it.

see, I think that's bs, I think the game was a broken mess released for pc and now they are patching the hell out of it, I can't support that bullshit and I don't understand how gamers could be so passive when a developer does crap like that. And then when gamers say the truth, gamers are being haters "attacking the poor developers" can't wait for the next broken game!

I avoided the PC release based on how developers have handled their ports recently.

I have a nice pc but if a game is on console and pc it seems like the pc port seems to have issues too often.

Which is strange considering a lot of games are developed on PC right?

He keeps lying, but aww he's so "humble" http://thisgengaming.com/2016/08/15/sean-murray-says-he-was-perhaps-naive-in-saying-no-mans-sky-wont-have-paid-dlc/

One thing you won’t see however, is the studio exploiting that with micro-transactions. Murray is adamant on this point. “We do want to add a ton of features, like we’ve just discussed: Freighters, bases, these type of things. But we want to do it for free. You’ve paid for the game, so you should get this stuff without paying even more money. So no, there will be no paid DLC, just patches.

Yes, that’s a quote directly from Sean Murray; “there will be no paid DLC, just patches.”

Well in an interview with the Daily Star Online Murray has now changed positions. Murray told the Daily Star Online that he was “perhaps naive” for suggesting No Man’s Sky will only have free updates.

“When pushed on whether the game will always remain free, Murray couldn’t categorically rule out paid for DLC further down the line, explaining that it could happen if “Maybe in the future there’s some reason why we just couldn’t possibly afford to do a certain feature without charging for it”.

It's pretty sad.  Every single developer has turned to the dark side of DLC, even some more new promising developers like CD Prjekt Red once said that all DLC for TW3 would be free.   High quality or not, an expansion is still paid DLC. Even Nintendo and Naughty Dog have some pretty shameless DLC options.

God knows I love The Last of Us but having to pay a buck for executions in multiplayer was ridiculous.

Naughty Dog DLC is disgusting. But people buy it so developers keep doing it.

I don't see what's wrong with his two statements. And there is good paid DLC and bad paid DLC. Hopefully all currently planned content to flesh the game out some more will be free DLC, and it sounds like Murray is still committed to this approach. If he only does the good kind of DLC and none of the bad kind then this bitching about his previous DLC comments is overblown. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I think it's an unrealistic expectation that all hypothetical future unplanned and undeveloped DLC must be free on the basis of a comment Murray made before the game released. Eventually a game stops selling in substantial numbers and eventually the revenue from a game dries up and the only way to put more resource into a game is to get a new revenue stream.

Yeah but if they develop the game for ps4 without real optimization for all the other components out there then this happens.

I'm not a developer so I wouldn't know.

One thing I do know is many pc ports have been bad.  It's a shame but it is what it is.  This is another PC port in a pretty long line that released broken.
