Donkey Kong Country 1 - 3... or are RARE games no third party games?

Poor Actraiser, not a single vote. XD

At this point it's pretty clear Chrono Trigger wins the poll, but it's still a close race for silver.

Those are second party.

Tied between Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VI

It wasn't one of my very favorites, but I really liked Actraiser.  I remember reading about it prior to release and thinking, why do the action levels have to be interrupted by these silly sounding god sequences?  Turns out, those ended up being my favorite parts of the game.

I also loved Yuzo Koshiro's soundtrack; he did fantastic music on the Genesis too such as Revenge of Shinobi and the Streets of Rage series.

Mega Man X for me.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I know it's lame to do this, but I can't choose. There were so many. I will try to think about it.

Dragon Quest VI

I would go with FF4. It had so so graphics, but the story and battles were fantastic. It is still my favorite FF. Super Castlevania, FF6, and Chrono Trigger are close though!
