If this game had some online interaction with other players, I would have been mildly interested. Think the developers missed out on a big opportunity by not putting that feature in the game.

He has always been very vague about anything related to the story and I'm wondering if this is the reason why he hasn't answered that question directly.
I'm enjoying the game big time, more so than i thought I would. There is no story as such but the discovery and lore of things as you make your way through planets, solar systems and space is amazing as you slowly start learning about the world around you. It's rich and detailed and works just as well any good story mode would. However, it would be a big shame if we couldn't meet other players. Me and my friends are hoping to do so and even created a naming planet strategy so we know if we are nearing in on each other.
I personally think the game works like it does with destiny etc. Unless you can be on that players server, you probably won't meet. You need to load up on that players server for it to happen. Hopefully, we will get a response from HG.
It's always been described as a single player title, and there were always going to be server issues, it's called instancing. Not every player is going to be connected to the same server, having one server support potentially over a million players in a universe that is essentially infinite? Potentially the instancing hasn't gone exactly as planned, or alternatively you were never meant to purposefully meet other players as has been said many times by the developers.
It is amusing who created this thread.
edit: Basically confirmed that it is server issues. If it wasn't a real feature then they wouldn't have added a scan for other players option would they, now if everoyne would calm down at the chance to bash the "opposing side" that'd be great!

Dark Souls also says 1 player. |
I don't know about previous entries, but Dark Souls 3 has tags for both 1 player, and 2 - 6 network players. On NMS's network tag there's no mention of the potential for more than 1 player, just that it has network features.

Let's be honest, the only people bitching are people that can't play it. Just buy a PS4 or upgrade your PC, smile and have fun.

I don't even understand how they found each other.
This thing is more massive than I'd of imagined.
l <---- Do you mean this glitch Gribble? If not, I'll keep looking.
I am on the other side of my sig....am I warm or cold?

"Too good to be true"
This saying fits this game so well. This game promised so much shit, it was obvious that most of it was going to be a lie.
Not buying.

Unless something has changed from last night, no. There's just video of people reaching the same spot and not seeing each other.
So we now have three groups of two who have "found" each other, but no one is able to see one another. I'm still going to give Sean the benefit of the doubt and assume this is server related, or maybe one of these Easter Eggs he spoke about.
Seems the universe isn't nearly as big as some thought though if these people have met up already. By the time I buy the game there might not be anything left to explore :(
