First we remove Hot Topics, then we can talk about other less urgent alterations.

The idea about finding all Game OTs in one place is a good one though. Merging MMO and Online is another good one.

Why this? have you lost a thread because of it? it would still be in your Buddy column just under the new name. And honestly most changes to thread titles (which I report) are to remove profanity or to actually spell things like Utube correctly in the thread title because it makes the front page look like ameteur hour with rubbish like that on it.

2. Remove Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, PC, Mobile, MMO, Online and Game Specific boards and merge all the threads into Gaming discussion (Edit: Have a community section just for "Nation" threads and "Specific Game OTs").

That will never work. It will simply increase the amount of flame wars and trolls. Not a good idea at all I'm afraid.

Re-name Movie section to something like "Multimedia" or "Entertainment" - the fact of the matter is its strange seeing "Anime" threads and TV show threads in the "Movie" discussion section when they arent even movies....

Games are considered multimedia aren't they? Multiple forms of media coming together to form something cohesive. Or as wikipedia puts it: "the use of a variety of artistic or communicative media." I think Anime should have their own handle/topic when somebody decides to make a thread. TV should too.

Overall, the solution isn't to blend anything together but to keep them separate, with added options.

Making it mandatory that moderators issue a notification via PM or a post via a thread if a thread is to be moved from one section to another or if the thread title will be changed for whatever reason. Name of moderator and the reasoning must be listed.

I think what we have in place is fine. If the original user requests it, or it's obvious that NX threads shouldn't be filed as Sony Discussion, that isn't necessarily a private converstation or notification that has to happen between the mods and users. Posts in the thread usually suffice.

I said this a long time ago. We have so many useless boards:

1. Just combine all gaming NEWS into one forum - Nintendo, PS, XBOX, PC, Mobile news in one section.

2. Leave the GAME specific board, and lets put emphasis on using it as a place to dicuss GAMES, NOT POLITICS OR NEWS AROUND GAMES

I can't either. The first one would be essential in making OTs more popular here on VGChartz, which is something that needs to happen.
