Forums - Nintendo - Bethesda Doesn't Rule Out Nintendo NX Support, But "It's Too Early to Say"

1) we're pretty well briefed in on what they are doing.
2) if the NX fits that from a technical standpoint, and fits the game that a developer in our stable is making, I don't see why we would not put it out on NX.
3) it's too early to say, 'we'll definitely be putting games out or not.' Like with mobile, we want to have the right fit for the right formats.

They dont know much of anything about the NX. 1) is basically a white lie.
or
They dont plan on releaseing any games, but are waiting to see how well it sells first.

Too early to say when it releases in 7 months = no, but just in case it sells a bazillion units, we won't slam the door completely shut.

Yeah this is what I get from that too.

"we dont plan too, but if it sells bazillion units, we ll do so anyways"

There are Zelda Easter eggs in Elder Scrolls. That should count for something, right?

Meh. I thought the sequel, which came out on the 3DS, was much better.

No worries - The prequel on 4DS will be even better!~

Is that what the NX is gonna be called? O.o

Anyone surprised about this polite no?

I am. From Bethesda, I would have expected a 'we don't know anything' type response.

In the end, Pete Hines was one of the harshest critics of the WiiU. I recall one of the biggest complaints he had was that Nintendo didn't communicate about what they were planning to do with the WiiU but now with the NX they are 'well-briefed'.

I'm cautiously optimistic that Bethesda will give Ninty some further consideration, but not betting the farm on that one.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I'll never forget playing:

On the GameCube.

Great times.

Really? Because their best efford on a Nintendo system is                              on the DS. Such a fun game.

You all easily forget Doom was a standout release on SNES, N64, and the GBA. Quake on the N64 as well (also tech demo'd for GBA)

Nintendo has demonstrated 3D technology with the 3DS.

Next gen - we will see shapes and forms in the fourth dimension!

Damn, that might actually make me buy the NX day 1!

DOOM and id were not under BethSoft until 2010.  Early DOOMs were published under GT Interactive and then Activision in the early 2000s.

Screw third parties, Nintendo's own output should increase now there is only one platform to support.

So that's a no, then. If Bethesda ignored them up until now, there's no reason they should suddenly jump on board after the worst console generation Ninendo has ever had.

We talk to Nintendo all the time – we're pretty well briefed in on what they are doing. It's definitely something we will look at; and our philosophy is that we will put our games out on any format that supports the games as we envisage and make them. If the NX fits that from a technical standpoint, and fits the game that a developer in our stable is making, I don't see why we would not put it out on NX. But it's too early to say, 'we'll definitely be putting games out or not.' Like with mobile, we want to have the right fit for the right formats. "

to me that says a lot.  maybe i'm reading too much into it but that would suggest developers view this as more mobile than console.

western devs haven't supported mobile well for about 2 gens now.
