Forums - Sony - So is safe to say Rime and Deep Down are dead?

Is WiLD still coming?  I was really interested in that game.

Deep Down looked great.

l <---- Do you mean this glitch Gribble?  If not, I'll keep looking.

I'd find it weird if deep down died out. I demoed it a few years ago and it played pretty great, and had English too. I wonder what ever happened to that game...

I think they've decided not to go F2P. As a F2P game, I can't see it holding the interest of people beyond just trying it out or playing it when bored, meaning not spending money on it.

I hope when they do show it off, it will be a full on action rpg like DD or Dark Souls.

It did kinda have that sort of Dark Souls vibe to it, but just... not as dark. It was pretty fun though and would make for a cool complete game, rather than a F2P.

I don't see the appeal in F2P games. They get boring very quick for me as they lack story, variety and just get to grindy and repetitive. Like you said, if they make this a complete game, it should be pretty awesome.

That's a good question. More games are always better, so I hope both are still on the way.

rime is dead to me. when sony cut ties with the developer it was clear that the project was either vaporware or just a terrible game. so ether way i don't care.

deep down,.. i dunno. it's clearly in developer hell but we also saw lots of gameplay footage for it. not sure what to make of it but it has far better odds of still existing than rime as far as i'm concerned.

I had never heard of Rime and I just watched a trailer for it and am bummed... Two games came to my mind: Jak and Daxter and Zelda... Rime looks like a game I could immerse myself in.

Deep Down is probably being re-worked and in dev hell for all we know. Maybe they're re-working it for PSVR and we can expect an announcment within the next year.

Hope Deep Down is still alive and they are just changing stuff... the F2P idea was terrible.
The game looked amazing tbh, just sell it for 60$, have a real story and maybe drop the procedural dungeon system altogether.

Bloodborne already proved randomized dungeons don't work.

I hate when games like this go silent.
The lack of communications is really a lack of respects toward players.

There was so many games that disappeared like this...

I agree. At least telling us whats going on even if its bad news. Uncertainty is not exactly helping.

No, it probably isn't safe to say that.

I'll have to disagree with that.

The strat of a generation is always full of vaporwares.

Games with awesome trailers with development that has barely started or not at all, or games that are just concepts but there isn't enough to create a fully fledged game.

-8 days
-Agent
-Project HAMMER
-Tekken X street fighter
-RIME
-Deep Down
-War Devil
-Rainbow Six Patriots
-Raven's Blade

So many games that got delayed so much they changed completely or changed platforms, or both
-FF Versus XIII became FF XV
-Too Human
-Perfect Dark Zero
-Dinosaur Planet became Starfox Adventures
-Duke Nukem Forever
-Prey

The only game that remained the same years later was probably TLG.
