Forums - Gaming Discussion - I believe Apple should buy Nintendo.

It'd cost at least 50b to buy Nintendo.

If you're not expanding you're going to explode.

There are dozens of things on Apple's priority list before expanding on videogames, specially owning studios or IPs.

Apple has to see how big gaming is (biggest form of media) and they do need a foot in the door asap.

They already control one of the doors of one of the most lucrative forms of gaming in the world, with barely any efford. Just fees alone on every app on the appstore must be a fortune. Also, having to and doing it are two different things.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

It would be a good investment for Apple IMO, but Nintendo would probably fight it tooth and nail, they own a huge amount of their own stock, so it would be difficult to buy Nintendo.

Sony or don't get bought at all.

Sony has nowhere near that kind of money.

It'd never happen, especially now that Nintendo is collaborating with Niantic, a company associated with Google and Alphabet...

LOL. Not paying apple prices for Nintendo stuff. Nintendo's games are already pricey enough.

profitable high profile japanese companies won't be sold to outsiders, the majority stock in these is usually in the hands of japanese family clans that won't let them come under foreign ownership

only after decades of losses they might back a decision to reach out to foreign investors
