Because of visuals I guess.
Home consoles are more cinematic and cater to a more casual crowd which happens to be more common here.

That's subjective, some people can spends countless hours playing Vita and 3DS exclusives.
For the average consumer though, people prefer what we see on home consoles.

Because this forum's demographic generally differs a lot from the general demographic of handheld consoles, thus handheld fans aren't as represented on this forum.

Which doesn't mean handhelds are bad or anything, I also really enjoy playing on them, but it's pretty clear they just don't have the same revelancy as consoles do to keep up with modern gaming. |
Considering that Nintendo has at least 5 or 6 franchises that sell more than the vast majority of other AAA titles out there on the 3DS alone, this statement is less than correct IMO. Big stuff? What does that mean? No CoD? It has Pokemon. No Halo? It has Mario. No Gran Turismo? It has Mario Kart...

I donno. The best game of the gen, in my mind, is a handheld title: A Link Between Worlds. The only thing keeping great games off handhelds is the small mindedness of publishers.
the problem with people is that they judge a console's worth based on power
Better graphics, more ergonomic controller, better sound since it is dependent on your own speakers.
More or less, better immersion. Handheld is great for on the go but when I am at home, I want my TV and sound system which I whored out for to be used. And no, I don't mean just plugging the handheld in through HDMI cause that just stretches the image and looks essh worthy.

I would add lack of a big screen and surround sound with great bass. A big screen allows multiple people in the room to be immersed into the experience and surround sound makes it more immersive too

Come on Rol, I know Nintendo are currently leading in hardware sales this gen with 3DS, but why talk about that when there's the Wii U to bash. Everybody knows...Nintendo =Wii U=low sales=doomed
