Ok so general consensus on the board is, if threatened by a dangerous person, comply and do nothing to protect yourself? Just trying to get a feel of the atmosphere here.

You're implying that giving a mugger what he wants to make him leave isn't protecting yourself. If you wind up in a situation where complying means emptying your pockets and the threat ending and not complying means starting a shootout and further endangering the lives of everyone around you over a phone, then yes, you comply, try to get the make, model, and license plate of the car, and seek justice once the threat has ended via the authorities. The criminals are scum, but the carrier irresponsibly got an innocent person shot - over phones and pocket change. People letting emotions trump logic get a lot of people hurt needlessly.

a good citizen carrying a gun stopped a guy with one. And if the libs had their way the criminal would be the only one with a gun and would have killed the guy or gotten what he wanted with no negative repercussions.

Uh, no, a good guy carrying a gun prompted a bad guy with a gun to shoot someone.  If we libs had our way, no one would have been shot and the bad guy would have been arrested.

(When is Iron Man 4 coming out?)

his illegal gun that he would easily obtain would be without challenge and he could take what he wanted.  Why do shooters target gun free zones?  If we can't stop people from crossing the border then we can't stop firearms

Iron man 4 is coming out when they raise my salary to 60m per movie.  I already had to drag Evans' butt up to the billion mark by appearing in his movie.  I have now been a part of the 3 highest grossing supehero movies ever.

I am Iron Man

He should have gave the guy his phone and waited until he turned around to run away. Then pulled the gun out, shot him and retrieved his phone from the now dead robber.

yea shooting people in the back is very heroic

i thought we just wanted the safest means?

HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Gun control means shit for someone who really wants one. The person who got those kids in Germany? Gun control does nothing to stop criminals from getting weapons, it just stops law abiding ones from attaining them. Canada has pretty lenient gun laws (compared to much of the world). yet we don't have a murder rate nearly as high as the US. Its the society of America that causes this shit, not guns...

Made a bet with LipeJJ and HylianYoshi that the XB1 will reach 30 million before Wii U reaches 15 million. Loser has to get avatar picked by winner for 6 months (or if I lose, either 6 months avatar control for both Lipe and Hylian, or my patrick avatar comes back forever).

You guys aren't even refuting Suave's point. What do gun laws have to do with this guy retaliating against a mugger and getting an innocent bystander shot?

I never said anything about gun control, and your reply doesn't address or refute anything that I actually said.  You sure you're responding to the right guy?
