Yah I found that too! I was like coming from awakening im going to use all the mage characters........ then nope. 

 

Idk if its just me but did they improve achers in fates? Or they just love giving us many archer base characters.

Favorite is Swordmaster, they're practically untouchable once max leveled. Especially with Ryoma in Fates.

Least favorite has to be Berserker. They usually end up getting killed rather than killing the enemy.

Honorable mentions: Not archers, but specifically Takumi and his OP Fujin Yumi, Sage, and Paladin.

Eirika yea... but she was naive so I could forgive her for that. I don't recall Ephraim's personality enough to know how he works and I never did his route before so I'm not too sure about him.

iirc, Ephraim was technically "good", but he moreso loved the gore of slaughtering his opponent with his lance.

Dragon Lords and Halberdiers (can't remember the final class, began with M?) are my two favourites. Heros are probably my preferred outside of Radiant Dawn though.

As for least favourite definitely cats. They're just so...ugh. Can't stand them. Aside from them the new Kinshi Knight and Adventurer are quite disappointing too, and bow knight always felt like a poor concession.

Least favorite are Beserkers, they are powerful but more often or not at least for me, they don't land the critical enough to be kill in one hit to survive on the front lines for long.

Favorite class, tempted to say Lords or Paladins but in my heart it is the shape shifter class i.e. Manaketes/Laguz/Tanguel/Wolfskin/Kitsune. They seem to be what Beserkers are meant to be, they hit hard, normally can take pretty decent damage but before Fates, they had limited transformation usage or time, which gives them their weakness period you have to plan around.
