Anyway guys whos to say the wont be 3 Versions of the NX?.

1. a Home Console (Apple Set top box)
2. a Handheld gaming Device (Tablet)
3. a Mobile Phone (Phone)

Id imagine the sales of them 3 systems (Plus id imagine the sales would be classed as 1 since all games will work across all 3 devices) would be pretty great for Nintendo.

Yeah sure, why not. You could make a "phoneless" model too, which is what the iPod Touch is.

I don't see it working well. If it's a phone made by Nintendo, it will inevitably compete with Apple and Samsung because most people don't want to buy more than one phone at a time.
It risks becoming a bit like the WiiU situation then, where people feel the have to pay for excessive hardware that they'd rather not have.

And to be honest, I'd probably feel a bit embarassed having a Nintendo phone. That I passed up an iPhone or a Galaxy because they suckered me into buying their phone instead just for the games.

They could create a neutral brand or team with someone like HTC or LG or (gulp) Samsung themselves. It doesn't have to be branded as a "Nintendo phone".

They can't compete with Apple and Samsung. End of story.

Apple couldn't compete with Blackberry.

Of course Nintendo should do this.  The key is they need to do it right.

No no no no no Nintendos strengths are software not hardware.

Other than Apple smartphone manufacturers make little profit and there will never be viable competition to Android and iOS. There is no point for Nintendo to make a smartphone.

Personally, I would not mind it if it were not for the fact that Nintendo's current manpower is not enough in addition to the Smartphone Market being dominated by the likes of Apple and Samsung with some ever rising challengers like Google and OnePlus.

Nintendo's core business will be it's main source of revenue and profit for the future. However, having more of their IP to jump into the mobile gaming forward would not be a bad idea as shown with Pokémon GO. If anything, Animal Crossing should be next in line considering its hefty emphasis on social activity; hopefully continually de-stigmatize the "hardcore" faction of gamers.

Who's to say Samsung wouldn't want to work with Nintendo on a phone? They make like 50 different phones anyway, what's one more?

If Nintendo called, guaranteed Samsung would love to take that call.

It's Nintendo that would be adverse to it, they only like relationships where they are the defacto alpha power most of the time.

The thing I dont understand is if this Nintendo Phone isnt meant to steal customers from Apple/Samsung than who is it aimed at?

The whole point of making a smartphone would be to attract smartphone users, correct? So isnt it a contradiction to say that they dont need to steal iPhone/Galaxy customers which make up a majority of the market?

Are we expecting iPhone/Galaxy users to start carrying around a second phone for Nintendo games? How is that any different that carrying around a phone & a handheld?

When the herd loses its way, the shepard must kill the bull that leads them astray.

No no no, no phone just make smartphone games.
